Sorry for the long post wich sounds a bit hypocondriac.
My mom yesterday walked next to me and looked at my head. Then said she thinks I'm getting bald on the crown of my head. I went to look at the mirror but I saw no bald spot, just a normal separation of hair due to the way it's combed. I've also checked it out on girls in school today and let them check out mine, they all said it looks fine and no signs of balding. The only thing I can notice is some thin hair over that area. But I think it has always been like that. My hair seems thin in some areas, even when I had short hair. 1 year ago I used to spike up my hair in a really extreme style, pulling it a lot and using a lot of hairspray. I have done that for few months and I haven't been doing it since 1 year. And once, I had a scalp pain because I scratched myself with the comb and then sprayed hairspray on it, wich caused an irritation wich lasted few days. The weird fact is I started to feel a small burning pain in that area from last night, from the moment I went to check if what my mom saw was real. How's that possible? Is it caused by the fact I got nervous out of it? I'd like to see a dermatologist just in case but I doubt he'll diagnosticate any balding. I also noticed my bangs are a bit thin, but that's been like that since ages, it just is more noticeable now cause my hair's more black than it has ever been. (Due to the dye I had on september.)I think I'm just a bit paranoid and hypocondriac about it. My dad got a bald spot in the area I'm talking about at the age of 30 or later, I think, but he had a head full of hair wich he was growing out long before his death.
Here's some pictures. (Linked or else post would be too huge)Two show the spot and one shows the bangs thinnes I mentioned.

You have a pale scalp and dark hair, so any scalp that shows, really shows. It doesn't look like it's thinning.
Looks fine to me, go and consult a hypocondriac's almanac :-)
Cheers,

Uahaha I will John!

I think maybe she's just teasing you.
My brother, who started balding early, used to tell me every time he saw me that he was my age when he started going bald. (He is 12 years older than me.)
This went on for 20 years or so. Apparently he was just messing with my head. I still have my hair, knock on wood, and I never crack on anyone with patten baldness.

I told her I don't care if I'll bald, I'll keep my hair and sport a lovely Devin Townsend look! :D
The idea of MPB doesn't bother me too much, it only bothers me to start it when 18........it's way too early.
Just one thing...what's with the pain on the scalp wich started since I checked for bald spot?

You probably don't have anything to worry about (about both the baldness and pain).
If you were thinking about it, the pain was probably just in your head.
I don't think you have anything to worry about Andrea. Antinous is right, the darker your hair the more your scalp will show at the part. If the girls in school say it's ok then it's ok. maybe your mom is not considering that by having longer, heavier hair, the part is more revealing. With shorter hair, the part will be more "puffy", concealing the scalp. All normal.
Don't worry, be happy!

Thanks Bruce! I feel a lot better expecially after checking out my friend's scalps today. XD My mom has chest lenght hair but she's hating it every moment, she likes it shorter but she has no time to go to the hairsalon...I'd pay to have her hair, while she wants to cut it shoulder lenght with a fringe soon...I can't understand her. Maybe she mentioned the spot cause as you said, she might never have checked her own scalp...she has it the same way I have. And I also think she's trying to scare me thinking I'll get it cut if i'll bald...I told her that no matter how bald I'll become, longhair is there to stay.
Heeeere we go, Devin style! XD
Take a look at your Mothers Brother (if she has one) and that will be your destiny. If you do have bad heritage, it may be a good idea to search the net (and visit a GNC) regarding DHT (di-hydro testosterone) for which some herbal remedies exist.
I got nailed by a chunk of ice back in February and had a bald spot there for 6 months. Its slowly starting to fill back in again ...
My mom's brother is around 40 or 45 and has a head full of hair, no bald spots. :D
I don't have pains anymore since people calmed me down about it.
It was all in my head....ahhh, mind is incredible.

Hey Bro, I have not cut my hair in 15 years or more. The main reason is its Blond and sucks to care for when its short. Too curly, and heck getting cuts all the time is a waste of time. When theres more length its easier for me. If I ever had to be more conventional, well ... SHAVED HEAD???
Plus- It just looks friggen awesome hahahhaha.
Hair loss is something everyone must face. Some get it early on (in their 20's no less), and others enjoy many years of locks. Im thinking you are in the latter category, based on what you said about your Uncle, and this is a fact of genetics if you care to look it up.
Rogane is a scam, pretty much. I started taking a cactus which raises testostorone and it does thin the hair a bit. There is balance from Saw palmeto which scrubs the DHT from your body, however.
Anyway, youre hair is awesome and Id freak out too so hang in there :)
