I like Chlorene swimming pools and have found the perfect remedy to the frizzies for Blond hair. At Target they sell a product called "Miracle Foot Cream." It says "as seen on TV" on it.
Stuff will make your feet look like a babys butt, and kills foot oder to the Max. But the best application is to put a huge handful in the hair before the pre-swimming shower. It protects my hair perfectly. I rinse it out, but it leaves a thin film on each strand of hair. Makes the split ends disappear and gives a nice post swim "dread" look to boot.
Not quite sure how thicker dark hair works out, but its awesome on mine. Try a test strand to see if you got problems with it, but Ive only had a good report.
On long Blond hair, all the swimming shampoos out there are way too harsh and leave it dry and easily broken.
PS: Please dont buy it all
I have long blond hair and they sell the product where I work, but are you sure it doesn't contain anything that can ruin hair after time? I only worry about that because it wasn't made or meant for hair. Thanks for the info.
Hi Karen, One thing omitted from my post was Aloe. The foot cream is pretty much pure Aloe, with a consistency of vaseleine. Thats what keeps it on the hair, versus those skin care versions at GNC. I rinse it with water to keep from putting a film in the pool though ...
If youre natural, its probably very fine Blonde hair. I tried mailbu 2000 and another organic brand (made for hair mind you) and it wrecked the hydration completely. Most of these formulations seem to be made for thicker dark hair.
Thin stranded hair takes a bit more care to keep from wrecking it.
Gotta say, if you like the dreaded look without damage, after swimming it looks awesome. There is enough residue that it sticks together in "bunches".
Guess same thing goes like clothes instructions, try a small spot first and then go for it!
Cheers!
