First a bit about myself. I have always had fairly long hair - longest was when I was a student in the 70s, when I grew it to shoulder length. I am lucky enough to have a wife with waist length hair, but unlucky enough that all the hair on top fell out about 10 years ago when I was in my mid 30s.
All the fashion gurus said shave your head, but I didn't want to, as I would have felt like a zombie, so I have been growing what hair I have left for almost 10 years. I only cut it once 8 years ago in the hope that it would make it grow more quickly (it didn't).
After 8 years without cutting it at all, I ought to be able to stand on it, or at least sit on it, but all I have a ponytail of about 11 inches which looks like 7 inches because my hair is wavy. I like it, but would like it longer. Given that it is not going to grow on its own, should I have it extended, or is that cheating?
Ideas and opinions, please
Do what you want and what makes you feel good about yourself.
Extensions may be "cheating", but who cares? If it looks good, go for it, man!
It's your hair, do what you want with it. I think you'll find that most if not all of us would support your decision....even extensions!
