It's our first snow of the winter! Oh dear all the buses and trains will be broken in the morning!
Cheers,
John.B
I envy you, sir. Whereabouts are you located on the other side of the lake?
-DJ
Just to the west of London.
This picture is beautiful. I wish we would get a good snow like this down here.
Yikes, its that white stuff! You are right John as it has a way of making all mechanical things go kaflewii.lol.Well good excuse for taking the day off my friend and might as well grab a brew to enjoy the wonderland:)
Mark
Nonetheless, it is your turn to have a winter wonderland. We had ours in Seattle exactly one year ago (remember my 2 year update), and it lead to a white Christmas. This year, we got no more than a flurry which did not last, despite the cold snap we had in the second week of December.

The white carpet of doom descends - With a metallic screech, the clock work of London grinds to a halt!
We do see some occasional snow here in Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas. We did have snow here on Christmas eve and day in 2004 :-)
- Oren
Man! We never get snow like that in Alabama.
Well, once we did and let me tell you, nobody can drive in the snow down here!
Cool,
Paul
Hey John,
If it makes you feel any better, last week the SF Bay Area got a significant dusting of snow on all our local mountain tops, as well as frost in the valleys (rare in these parts). Sorry, no pics to share... I was a wimp all during that cold spell, and just stayed inside!
Anyway, thanks for sharing - and stay WARM!
- Ken (sipping on his Pina Colada under a palm tree - LOL)
That's how I like my snow Ken....up on the mountaintops for all to see but where I live just give me those nice 70 degree days:)Well looks like my luck will run out tomorrow as the prediction is looking like a fairly big snow fall here in NJ.
...Mark(Getting ready to pack his bags for California!)lol
Hey Mark,
Yes, come on out to CA, Mark -- although our winters are rarely in the 70s (even during the daytime), at least being in the 50s and 60s ain't so bad as all that snow you get in NJ!
I also replied to your other comment in another thread, below... Take care, buddy -- and keep on growin' that magnificent mane of yours loooooooooong!!!
- Ken
holy crap i knew england were getting snow last night but ........ sweet zombie jesus
Hi John,
Oh my goodness, look at that snow! Although we still haven't had any major amount here where I am staying, in the Western part of PA, our first significant "snow event" is forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
Cheers,
David
Aaaggghhh!!! I am SOOOO jealous!! I miss decent amounts of snow so much I could scream. Around here we rarely get more than an inch or so on the ground. If it's not at least halfway up my shins, it's just not deep enough!!!!
Wow, you're really lucky to get all that snow.
I was just in the UK 2 weeks ago so I missed seeing snow for 2 weeks. Shame... I love freezing weather :D
let's hope you have a white christmas :)
Hi Shawn,
We don't normally get that much snow in the south east like we used to and nice to see. I doubt it will be a white Christmas.
See we missed you on your recent trip. Let me know next time your over.
Cheers,
John.B
Well John glad to see you getting some snow to put you in the holiday spirit. Perhaps you and a few friends went around singing Christmas carols. ROFL
As someone who lives in a snowy place I am so amused by all those who would love to see some snow in their neck of the woods. Perhaps their fancy would change if they had to clear a foot of it from the driveway after a storm. As well as shovel the ridge at the end of the drive that the plow piles up when it goes by.
In the photo looking down my drive to the street. I was 3 hours with combination snow thrower and shovel. The snow was wet heavy snow, what we call heart attack snow and the snow blower wouldn't eat through the ridge at the end.
Those of us up here say to you all in the south "Come up and see us sometime".
(grin)
Kevin
Forgive me Mr. B not trying to hijack your thread.
Are you demanding a ransom?
Like I said only a couple of inches..lol!
Cheers,
John.B
Dear Diary,
September 12, 1993: Moved to our new home in Maine. It is so beautiful here! I love it!
November 4, 1993: It snowed last night! woke up to find everything blanketed with white. It looks just like a post-card. We went outside and cleaned the snow off the steps and shoveled the driveway. we had a little snow-ball fight, (I won!), and then when the snow-plow came by,we had to shovel the driveway again. What a beautiful day. I love it in Maine!
December 2, 1993: Well, all the snow has melted. I hope we get some more.
December 12, 1993: More snow last night! I love it! The snow-plow did his trick again at the driveway.
December 19, 1993: More snow. Couldn't get out of the driveway to get to work. Am exhausted from shoveling. F***ing snow-plow!
December 22, 1993: More of the white shit fell last night. I've got blisters on my hands from shoveling. I think the snow-plow hides around the corner and waits until I'm done the driveway! A**hole!
December 25, 1993: Merry F***in' Christmas! More goddamn snow! If I ever get my hands on that son-of-a-bitch who drives the snow-plow I swear I'll f***ing kill him!!!
December 27, 1993: More white shit last night! Been inside for three days! Can't go anywhere, cars stuck in a mountain of goddamn snow! The weather man says to expect another ten inches of the white shit tonight. Do they know how many shovels full of snow ten inches is?!
December 28, 1993: The weather man was wrong. We got fourteen inches of the white shit! At this rate it won't melt 'till f***in' August!!!
The snow-plow got stuck just up the street. The guy asked if he could borrow my shovel. I hit him with it!
Haha! That's OK; you can have all the snow to yourself. The South may have its problems, but at least we don't have to deal with all that.
There's a huge storm coming right at me for this weekend!
