Ok guys i'm about 9 months in and am really starting to realize i better treat my hair nice. I sometimes use a very small bit of gel to help control it(i have really wavy hair and its curling up) I'm using just some standard shampoo nothing special. What do you guys recommomed in terms of the above. Also what about drying?? Towel, blow, air??? Thanks for the help.
I wash and condition my hair every Wednesday and Sunday night. I use whatever shampoo is on sale. No need to spend a fortune on "special" stuff that won't make a difference.
I use a regular conditioner (like Suave, again, whatever is on sale). After that, I use SoftSheen "BreakThru" conditioner. I leave that conditioner in my hair, tucked inside a shower cap for about 45 minutes or so, then rinse it out.
Then I gently towel dry.
After my hair is dry, I put in this phyto plankton leave in conditioner (the only expensive stuff I use). It's this lime green stuff available only at salons. Great stuff. I comb that stuff through. If my hair is excessively wavy or curls up, I use my straightening iron to make it straight and a bit flatter (in case it gets poofy).
That's it!
On nights I don't wash my hair, I put it up and don't even get it wet. My best hair days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Friday through Sunday. Thursday and Monday are not as nice, since they're the day after shampooing.
That's my routine. Works for me!
Thanks for the tips, seems like a well thought out routine. I just hate my hair i swear it hasn't grown in like 3 months, or if it has maybe its just thicker. Oh well thats what i get for having thick wavy hair. It only reachs my eyes in the front and i'm 9 months in. Well just think another year and it will rock.
