So in August I cut off the dreadlock topknot and stopped shaving the rest of my head. I enjoyed the style (it allowed me to get basic control over headrolls in contact juggling), but I missed having a full set of hair (dreadlocks or otherwise).
So just around 4.5 months now, the curls have started to come back. Awkward stage here I come :)
I put 3 wraps on my goatee (which hasn't been cut in this time). Seeing if it'll form into 3 dreadlocks
Great to hear from you....and we are looking forward to following your new adventure !
Good Luck
Walter
Wow,you sure look much different than when you were on this site many years ago.Obviously its the hair style but I'm sure some of the body art is new also. You look great otherwise and it will be fun watching your new journey take place.Cheers
Mark
Are you growing it with the intention of dreads again?
I've decided to get dreads (see my thread a while down) and it's great that there is now someone on the board who knows about them if I have any questions.

Eventually yes. I'm going to keep it detangled for a while. . .I'd really like to get it long enough to have a single braid in the back.
Ive been thinking about possibly getting dreads as well...are they hard to maintain?
Not at all, but it depends on what you're wanting in dreadlocks. Frizzies are eternally present, and some people will use a small crochet hook to try and weave them in. The awkward phase is extended as they lock and collapse into their shape more, and they're ever changing. Like elves "They do not age, they only become more like themselves"
When I have dreadlocks I wash about once a week/2weeks, and just make sure they're dry other than that.
Welcome back Kevin!
Good to hear from you again.
