Some of you probably might not remember but last year I posted a pic on December 20th showing my hair length at that time and now I'm going to post the same type of pic just over a year later taken today.In this pic taken in 2008 Scott thoughtfully made a hash mark showing exactly where my hair ended then.So now this is the ultimate comparison and I'll let you all make the call.

Hi Mark, your hair appears to be about the same length as before. You may be able to gain additional length by tweaking your dietary supplements. Biotin and MSM may give you additional length gains (if you aren't already taking them.) Even so, you have good length.

Hi Scott,I have been taking Biotin as a supplement for not quite a year yet.I take one 1000 mcg tablet a day.I do admit I'm happy with what I have now but it would be cool having hairfreaky length hair:)

Maybe you can get more length by keeping your hair in a segmented tail. Rainbow hair ties would look great. That is how I achieved the length I now enjoy. Maximum length needs maximum protection.
Peppyn has incredible hair. His is as long and possibly slightly longer than mine.

Mane looks fantastic!!! If you have not done any trimming during the past year then I would say that your hair is growing very slowly - but still growing. Regardless, it (and you) look great!

Thanks for the encouragement Mark as coming from a hair pro like you its a real compliment:)I have not trimmed my hair at all for years so whatever I loose is just normal shedding.Its great all the money I save by never going to a salon anymore.Goes to show that barber shops and salons really aren't needed.lol

I'm new to the site, started growing my hair about 4 months ago, probably at 2 1/2 inches or so. My hair is thick and very wavy, the awkward stage is going to be tough. I love this site and all of the great information shared by you and others for newbies like myself.
I think your hair is fantastic! Apparently you've done many things correct for some time. Everyone's entitled to their opinions, and I respect them all; but I must say you look really sexy in the tight shirt and little shorts! Hopefully you'll take a compliment from a gay man.

That's cool you want to grow out your hair and I encourage you to
stick with it as you'll be dealing with the awkward stage as your hair
continues to lengthen.The rewards certainly will be worth the effort once
your hair gets beyond shoulder length.

Many of us have noticed periods of no growth only to be followed by a additional lengthening. So it may pick up again after you move it our of New Jersey !
In any case, that is a respectable length of healthy, good looking hair.

Hi Walter or should I say....Mr.Secretary!I like the way you put it that hair growth could be sort of at a snails pace and all of a sudden it takes off again.Yes,possibly the NJ air is the problem and it needs a little west coast living:)Still though I like its length now even though a bit fuller would be nice.Cheers my friend.

That is a great looking mane you have there Mark! I don't have a great amount of knowledge on terminal length, but looking at your pics, I'd say you still have some growing left to do.
Even if you are at terminal, I would not be disappointed at all. Your hair already has amazing length which must have taken years of dedication to grow. You have a mane to be proud of.

Hope your enjoying your festive season with the exciting new decade of 2010 only a short time away. Don't know whether your at terminal or not but looking at the 2008 pic and the newer recent one your length appears to be about the same. May not be at terminal yet, just having a stall. Anyway I think the length you have achieved is excellent Mark and you can be real proud of having reached this point with a healthy looking mane of hair.

Hi Mark,
This is a tough call, and as Scott said, your mane does appear to be similar length in the comparison photos. However, he gave some excellent advice, and you may indeed be able to achieve a few more inches.
Regardless of whether you have reached terminal, you have a length to be proud of, and I hope I can reach your length some day. My hair grows very slowly, but there is still an incresae from a year ago.

Thanks for you input on my post as I'll just wait and see if anymore inches grow out.Still its been great all these years having longhair and not really been given any heat over it.I consider myself lucky in that respect.

Hey Mark! I think your hair looks great dude. Not sure if you are at terminal length, but that length is extremely long that you have and you should be very proud of reaching tail-bone length! :) I hope mine will grow to my lower back at least and i'll be set lol

Yes, I guess this pic doesn't flatter my abs a whole lot as even though I go to the gym its the hardest body part to get toned.Guess it could be worse if I didn't keep the Christmas cookies in check:)I do appreciate your honesty though.

I have to say it's diffcult to tell from those pictures. But you should take comfort and know you have an amazing head of hair and unlike alot of school kids and people in Texas...ouch! They do have big flags don't they!!!
As for Kevin's comment I've not been to gym in years and as for a 6 pack the wine and beer killed that along time ago...lol!

Yes, that looks like what the majority are saying about the change in hair length over the last year.If there is growth its very small but at least its not going backwards.lol.

To my eyes, your length appears fairly similar in all the images, discounting slight differences in posture and camera angle. This is one of the indications of terminal length.
When I was approaching/at terminal, the real confirmation for me was a measure-trim-measure cycle. Measured length was pretty static, I cut a couple inches off, measured length increased by my growth rate until it reached the original length and became static again.
Nice to know, I suppose, but I was less than thrilled to confirm terminal. I've not noticed significant variation based on diet, health, or stress levels.
Better hair care got me 1/2" to an extra inch in final length, but, I wasn't really abusing it before, and my hair is coarse and thick, so environmental damage is unlikely to break *all* the longest hairs.
For finer hair, keeping it up/contained/protected will make more of a difference in preserving length. Also, damage caused by tangles in damaged hair can be avoided by doing search and destroy on split ends (hair quality scissors, good light, and patience).

I never would have thought about trimming a little after a measurement
and remeasuring after some regrowth takes place.My hair is on the
fine side and I do take great pains to protect it when I'm outdoors.I could
never leave it loose as it would be a tangled mess when I got home
especially if it were windy.Most times I just keep it under a ball cap and
when I remove it once indoors my hair is in great shape.It does sadden me
that I have to hide my hair so much as I would prefer it out in the open
for all the world to see.
Your mane is absolutely gorgeous as I'd love to have that length and
thickness.It would be cool to meet you on my next trip out to SF in the
spring just to see you and that hair live in person:)Thanks for your input

Your hair behaves about the same as mine: sometimes i THINK it's still growing, then sometimes not.... Then suddenly I notice some more growth again... (or so I *think* I do - LOL)....

Nice talking with you on Sunday. I had to leave work a day earlier than I expected, asking one of my co-workers to cover my Mon. breakfast shift for me, as Even is not well right now. I talked w/ him right after I talked to you, and his fever and cough sounded HORRIBLE; so decided I needed to be home to make sure he had enough food and med. supplies, etc. So far as I can tell, I have no flu symptoms at all myself ("knock on wood").

My prediction: I predict you are near, if not already at terminal. At this point, I believe you can only grow another few inches to at most a half a foot before it is terminal.
