It's not a huge change, but it is growing! I bought some new hair toys today... more bandanas (now I have 9, in different colors. No more sweeping my hair out of my eyes every five seconds at work!) And, I (finally) got a wide-tooth comb, and a bottle of FX Silk Drops detangler to try out.
I really need to try to look more alive in these pictures. lol

Yes you do, why look at your left eye, its just demonic.
Nice progress.....the silk drops are excellant....if you are ever in ny drop me a note....I have a full service salon. would love to have you play with everything.
I don't get to NY very often at all, but it would be fun to play with all that stuff (provided no one chases me down with scissors :P)
Your hair is coming along great....looks well maintained and healthy.
"...I really need to try to look more alive in these pictures. lol..."
You look very alive to me....actually a little mischievous ! Ha!
Thanks for Sharing

Mischievous is good!
Hi Dmitri,
You have a TERRIFIC head of hair to work with -- looks hands-down in EXCELLENT condition, as well as you've achieved a nice length so-far.... Also, great color and thickness, as well as a bit of a wave to it... PERFECT hair for growing out loooooooooooong!!!
"Onward and downwards!"
Now, as far as looking "more alive" in your pics goes... Don't worry: as your mane gradually gets longer and longer, that smile of yours is going to get bigger and bigger, -- until one day I guarantee that it will turn into one huge doo-doo eatin' grin!
Happy hair-farming!!

Perfect hair? Thanks! I'm sure when I get enough length for a pony tail, I'll be ecstatic. Hair farming is about the only farming I really want to do (I grew up on a cattle[beef] farm).

Hi Dmitri,
Just wanted to add a couple of comments that hopefully will help you out the next time you see family who might comment negatively about your hair...
In my experience, the longer your hair gets (especially once it's well past ponytail length), the more your hair will do the "speaking" for you. What I mean by that is: while you are still going through the middle of the infamous "awkward stages", friends and relatives who wish you'd go back to the shorter hair-style that they are used to seeing you have in the past are still hoping to nag and pester you enough so that you'll change your mind and conform to their wishes. In other words, they might increase their "get a haircut" comments while you are still very much in the process of growing it out; but, once it gets truly loooooong, they tend to finally shut up and just accept it as fact. It's an odd behavior, but many of us here have found this to be true. It's as if most of the people you know will finally resign themselves to the fact that it is indeed your hair on your own head -- and there is NOTHING they can do about it!
To those die-hard "friends" and/or relatives who STILL don't have the common sense to keep their mouths shut about your own hair-length preference, this is what I've found works for sure: just smile without saying a word, then shake your mane wildly to show it off, then smile back at them again... chances are that they're jealous!!
If you STILL have die-hard family members who won't let up about your long hair the next time you see them, then let them know you no longer enjoy their company at family gatherings. After all, there are PLENTY of needy people on the planet who will probably gladly welcome you at their holiday tables, -- then when you do finally return home some year, they'll probably all be so glad to see you that they won't even care if you're bald by then!

Thanks for all the pointers Ken. I really hope my hair will "speak for itself" and that will be the end of it. It felt really weird putting Grandma in her place... But when the sweet old lady is trying to convince people to erratically clip my hair while I sleep so that I have to get a haircut to "fix" it... something has to be said! (Don't worry, I was mostly civil and didn't make her cry).

Yes, hair in the eyes, an annoying part of the awkward stage.
How are those Killer Bunnies working out? :-)

I haven't gotten a chance to play the game yet... the box looks nice though! lol

Hi Dmitri, your hair looks awesome in that pic even at that shortish length.I can only imagine how great it will be in a much longer state.Sounds like you've been experimenting with different hair care items which is the best way to find what works best with your hair type. There's always some sort of learning curve when it comes to getting your hair routine down.Keep us updated on your progress my friend.Cheers
Mark
Yeah... I'm exploring the learning curve. I decided to try the silk drops because of two things: my hair looks like an electrocuted puff-ball in the morning, and sometimes it feels rough at the back of my head. I've only used the drops one night, and there seems to be improvement. I'm impressed.

Dude, I swear you look like Dave Mustaine! \m/ His hair is awesome! Keep it growing man!
