First, Happy New Year 2010!
My name is Chris, and I've been lurking around here for some time, and figured I'd make my presence known.
A little about myself: I live in the great (in someone's mind) state of New Tax-- er.. York near the capital of the state. I'm an avid skiier/snowboarder in the wintertime, and working on my Private Pilot-Glider license in the summer. I am also a General class Amateur Radio licensee, callsign KC2NIJ. I can be heard a lot on the local repeaters when I'm driving around town. For my day job, I'm the sixth generation of a locally owned lumber and building materials dealer, and I work every day to get to the point where I can look over it all and just relax for a couple of months (I'll need it by then LOL). Oh, I'm also a libertarian oriented conservative, meaning I say "whatever floats their boat" a lot. There's a whole littany of what I like to do that is enough to write a small book about, ranging from astronomy to whatever.
Anyways, I'm in the process of growing out my hair, and I'm currently at a few cm shy of full shoulder length. My eventual goal is mid-back. Of course I get the usual complaints about it and threats to kidnap me and shave it off, but I know they just like to nitpick. I generally try to keep it clean and under control, usually straightening it and tying it back loosely on occasion. Pics to follow soon.
I have to go to the movies now. We're seeing Sherlock Holmes. Hope to hear from people here, and maybe make new friends.

Welcome to MLHH Chris! And congratulations for growing out your hair. You have a good goal, mine is mid-back as well. My hair passes my shoulders just a little bit. A pic would definitely be nice, I'd like to see what your mane looks like!

I am new to the Men's Long Hair Hyperbpoard as well, and am enjoying the cyber fellowship with those of like-mind. My goal is mid-back as well like I had a long time ago. I just started growing out, but feel confident that I will reach the goal witht he support of good people.

Yes, a pic will arrive as soon as the light on my battery charger turns green. I got a new camera for Christmas, and I haven't fully charged the battery yet.
