Here's my pic. I took it this morning and posted it on my introduction thread, but it got buried by other topics, so I'd figured I'd try again because I know people were asking.
Chris.
Looking good man!
Keep it growing!

Thanks. The last time my hair was almost this length would have been about 9 years ago, and I was a bit heavier then. My other goal is to lose the spare tire too. That is slowly going away. I've been getting the same old reaction from people about the length (cut it!), but I found that if I'm up on its neatness, people generally leave me alone about it. I'll generally try to wash it every other day, and I hit it with the straightener in the mornings (the ends want to curl and it's maddening). I've also told people that I have practical reasons why I'm growing it out, such as insulation in the wintertime, and protection from the Sun (my neck burns constantly).
Looking good man keep it growing.
Welcome to the board Chris! You're off to a good start!
Bruce
I saw your one below after I posted my "is your battery charged"
comment which I removed.
Looks like you have a good start in the back but you'll have that
situation where the back is longer and you'll have the urge to
trim it to even it out. My best advice is to try and resist that
temptation. Watching the length in back get longer is the best
motivator and will keep your spirits up. Trimmers often feel
like they are never going to get there and many give up.
When I started growing I used to trim an inch off every 4 months
believing in the myth that it made your hair grow faster and
healthier. Luckily I was a very patient person and the awkward
stage didn't bother me so I got there before I knew it.
Patients is the key ingredient to having longhair.
Good luck
Kevin
Hey Kevin, I remember a couple months ago some dude posted on here saying he would post a pic when he got home from work. This just kinda reminded me of that. Haha.
I wonder if that guy got home yet?
That's what initially crossed my mind when Chris said he needed his camera to charge. We get that from time to time. After i posted I saw his Pic post added to the thread. I thought "oh good a real person not afraid to post his mug" So I deleted my reply or attempted to.
I forgot that guys name but he's probably still at work.
His overtime must be worth a mint.
I always try to keep to my word. I may be slow at times (especially when other things come into play, including being a homeowner for only 6 months now), but if I have a goal in mind I make the attempt to achieve it.
Thank you for your encouragement Kevin.
The last time I tried growing out, I didn't quite do it right, and I ended up buzzing it off. I had short hair for the longest time until about a couple of years ago. I did routine trims to get it to come out just right, and now it seems to be working out ok. I'm not sure if I'm past that awkward stage yet. However, I need to constantly straighten it in the mornings because those strands in the back keep curling up on me, which I hope will work itself out over time.
I keep getting people asking me if I'm going to trim it. I just smile at them and tell them to worry about their own hair. Luckily when I do need to nip off a cm or two at the ends, I can have my cousin do it who's licensed in NY for hair salons (I trust her to keep the cutting to a minimum).
Thank you all for kind words. I will continue to use this resource to help me along my journey.
God bless
Chris.
