Hello guys,
here is my january update.
As I moved into my own little flat my hair is getting better and better, I really get how much stress I had and how much it efforted my hair.
Don't get any split ends, take very much care etc. - hair is always in a braid.
In my pic you see it freshly oiled (coconut oil on dry hair - I just oil wet after my shower) to keep the ends safe and combed. I'm not sure about cutting a straight hemline someday, because my hair is growing so fast I don't think a line would be too neccessary in about 1 year.
Hair was washed 6 days ago, gonna wash it on thursday.

Forgot to write - my hair isn't parted properly in this one (you see it at the bottom - can't braid right to the very end) and it's over belt length now - about 90cm in length, trying to reach 100cm to my 21th birthday in june.
Hands down-Awesome looking. COngratulations on such healthy looking hair.

Wow. Your hair is pretty thick, it looks really, really healthy. Keep doing what you're doing, because it's working well for you. Super length, and nice looking braid, too. I'm not far behind you, hehe.

Lately, (since November) I've been keeping my hair in a braid. It feels so much better than a ponytail and doesn't require alot of detangling. I like the feel of loose hair, but I sure pay a price for that!

I like the feel also but with this length its getting uncomfortable to wear it open.
I don't feel well putting my hair through the elastic when it strifes every cm of my hair - so just braiding, way better.

Your pics always show a TERRIFIC head of hair, hands-down FANTASTIC, -- in fact, drop-dead GORGEOUS, even HARD TO BELIEVE!!! I have only one small problem with your photos, however...
You have ONLY shown pics of your hair from the back. Not even from a semi-profile view, or even a slightly different angle from the back. Not even remotely showing proof that you might be even a male (not that this should really matter, I guess, since I'm very supportive of the wonderful female members that regularly post here).
OK, I'm sure I'm going to get an earful from a lot of folks here that will feel I'm not being very "nice" by saying any of the above. But hey, normally I don't even bother replying to people who only talk to me showing their backs.
Maybe I'm just a bit too "old-fashioned". Or, maybe I've turned too much into a grumpy old geezer. Or... maybe it's just, "THAT time of the month" for me! In any case, since I've seen the back of your head from the exact same angle many many times before this now, this recent pic looks very [YAWN]...
Oh! I almost forgot to add: the braid looks nice!
Well grumpy old geezer you do have a valid point.
Throughout the last few years we replied to all the updates
offering our support and encouragement and received little in
return as far as engagement or gratitude. That's not to say he's
not grateful but perhaps has a difficult time expressing it.
I'm remembering all the past updates and all the many replies
and a scant few ever got any kind of reply back. I remember one
occasion when I had returned from Wacken and I commented to Dusk
on one of his updates that if I walked up behind him in Germany
I would recognize him right away. He actually did reply to that
comment thanking me. I'm glad he saw it as a nice comment
although it was mild sarcasm on my part. I would recognize the
back of his head in an instant but seeing him from the front
just another long haired young person.
Many users get many things from our community, some like the
engagement and being sociable, some like the resources and
advice, and some just like the attention nuggets. It's
interesting to observe over time different users patterns and no
one is right or wrong except the trolls which we luckily are
fairly good at keeping off the board.
So your comment as a long time engaging sociable users is a fair
one to make and not meant as a slam or wind up but merely some
advice given in a humorous way. So I don't see people queuing up
to slam you as I'm sure many out there agree.
One last thing.....it is a very nice braid Dusk.

LOL, very well stated, Kevin, I agree w/ everything that you said -- as well as have always been a big fan of your understated sarcasm!
Occasionally I see guys post their "update" pics here, followed by a flurry of many kind people replying, "Looks great!" or, "Fantastic hair!", or "Keep it growing!" or whatever... Hey, it takes TIME to respond to the many users who come here asking for genuine support. Whenever I see a guy who comes back over and over again to post their pics in order to receive tons of praise and encouragement, yet never giving that same kind of time & attention back to anyone else in the community, it begins to fester under my skin...
Add to that blurry, obscured, or "artistic" photography... and then shots taken only of someone's behind... Well, let's just say that it certainly makes me "wonder".....

I got tired of looking at backs of people about five minutes after I first signed on here. I ignore all the back to the camera posts. Unless proven otherwise I take it that there is a reason why these posters do not show their faces and the reason is that there is something embarrassing to show such as a huge birthmark or something.

Yes, I try as often as possible to consider that there might be a very valid reason for someone not showing there face here. Sometimes I'm a bit more of a cynic about it all, though. Rather than having a birthmark or something physically embarrassing, sometimes I get suspicious that there are just too many people that come to the Internet who are HIDING something about themselves in a more snake-like way. In cases like that, I just get tired of pretending that it's OK to continue pulling the wool over our eyes.

Surely the most obvious reason is the wish for privacy? You can't expect everyone to be OK with having images of their face out there for all to see, spread, manipulate and so on. It's fine being sarcastic about not being able to recognise someone from the front, but maybe that's exactly how they want things to stay? I know I wouldn't want a complete stranger imposing himself on me because he saw my hair on the internet.
Of course, one is entitled to yawn or move on when seeing the umpteenth back shot if they don't do anything for you, but I guess if I held such an opinion I'd simply ask if he planned to show his face in the future, instead of cynically speculating over what he is hiding.
I do agree with Kevin's other comments about giving back when you receive, however. It's just the face thing - personally my entire focus is on the hair, faces are useless to me.
Anyway, great hair Dusk. Do you have Norwegian blood?

Heh. I'm sure the vast majority of the pictures I post here are from the back...although I'm sure a few have been from the front...and I do try to have interesting backgrounds.
Certainly, I am unable to resist responding to almost any reply to me...so no worries on that front.

Arrgg that reminds me just how bad i miss the ocean lol. Spent 8 years in the Corps and was never far from one.... now i live in Tennessee. I miss the salt air so much lol.
17 foot swells on top of a 6 foot tide. It was pretty impressive.
Indeed, most update threads turn into a "woof fest". One post, and then going through the replies it is woof woof woof woof woof woof.
Yeah, Ken, you're right. There's a word for guys who always present their backside. As I recall, it is "a bottom".
In my book, variety is what makes an update a great one. Photos from front, side, and back. Comments that actually point out something or ask relevant questions. Otherwise there is no substance to the thread. No one learns anything. It is just woof woof woof.

I certainly agree with you Bill, while everyone here needs encouragement when they post updates, we should attempt to convey what we liked about the update rather than just saying "rock on and keep growing, looks great". After all haven't we all heard that kind of message a little too much?

I think sometimes though the internetz can be a very open when some people are quite private.
Personaly I do not care so much...considdering I got a date offer out of it :)
