Picture shows all my shampoos and conditioner in my bathroom.
NO I dont´t have a girlfriend, this is all my own hair products!
From left to right:
Klippoteket Extra Shine Shampoo and Super Volume price 1 bottle 20 kr = 3 USD - Really bad Swedish mall brand....
PHC conditioner for dry and damaged hair price 26kr = 3,80 USD Half price =) Bought it at after christmas sale at Kicks, swedish chain shop with perfume, skincare and hair products, like Ulta in the US. Good conditioner, smells very nice.
John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE Curl around Shampoo and Straight ahead Shampoo price for 2 bottles 100kr = 14 USD. Also bought at after christmas sale at Kicks.
My hair is not curly but its wavy when its wet. The Curl around Shampoo gives my hair massive volume and waviness. After washing with this I look like an 80s glam-rocker!
The Straight ahead Shampoo makes my hair super soft and really flat., it looks longer!
Its good to notice such huge difference in same brand. Both shampoos smells very nice, like bubblegum.
Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo, Conditioner and 3 Minute Miracle Re-constructor price Sham 100 kr = 14 USD, Cond 100kr = 14 USD, 3 Minute Miracle 125kr = 17.50 USD
This makes my hair shiny and super soft. And it smells wonderful.. The problem is, when im using aussie products, My hair gets greasy the day after i washed it!!! Maybe this is the wrong type for me (moist).
Redken All Soft Shampoo, Conditioner and Heavy Cream Deep Treatment
Price: Sham 249kr = 35 USD, Cond 249kr = 35 USD, Deep Treatment 359kr = 50 USD
Prices in Sweden. I ordered them from British site www.lookfantastic.com . They have a pack with all these three products for 45 Gbpounds = 71 USD.
I dont see a difference when im using the Shampoo/ Conditioner. There´s no Wow- effect. But I can go 3 days without washing and my hair looks the same. Thats the difference!
The Deep Treatment is alot better. It makes my hair super soft, shiny and removes all tangles. The problem is that is sooo expensive. I don´t think i will buy these products again.. Im a bit disappointed.....
Loreal Elvital Deep conditioner price 69kr = 9.80 USD This is Loreal products for the mall, not salon products but good value for the money.. Together with Schwartzkopf Gliss i would say Loreal Elvital is the best brand you can buy in a Swedish SuperMarket.
Ok lets face it: I spend way too much money on hair care products! I also spend waaay to much time thinking what the best shampoo in the world is!!!! Sometimes i feel like a girl..
I´m have really a trouble finding the right shampoo/conditioner for my hair.
I have tried both mall brands and salon brands.
I like trying out salon brands, but look how many diffrent brands there is!!!!!
I went to www.lookfantastic.com and did a fast count of their shampoo brands.
On their website they have 65 brands!! And this is only brands. Then you must add all the ranges for specific hair types.
I have NEVER seen a shampoo for my hair type:
Greasy roots and dry ends...
To all of you longhair guys I have some questions:
What products do you use for your hair?
Did you search long time befor you found the right products for your hairtype?
Do you switch shampoo brands or stick to the same?
Do you think salon products are worth its price??
Tell me your shampoo/conditioner tips for me please!!!
Im so confused right now...
Please help me!
Take care!

I'm just the same, it's a matter of having long hair, not a matter of being a girl.
But I have..... Garnier Fructis has a great product for mixed hair types, one that matches exactly that description.
I use Loreal Professional for curly hai and Neutrogena clarifying. Other brands that work for me is Loreal (the cheap supermarket brand), Aussie, Fructis for curly hair, and Brilliant Brunnette.
By all means stay away from Pantene and any super saver brand that might come in HUGE bottles. There's only one brand I've seen that makes BIG bottles and has a good product but I guess it's my last choice.
More importantly.... it's a bigger issue to find the right routine. Products matter but th foundations is to find the right routine for your particular head of hair. And for what you're telling me you might be washing too much. Try to cut down on washs, then your roots will stop making so much oil. The body reacts in order to compensate for what you're doing, and it not only applies to hair. Try washing a little less and keep testing products. You normally know it's going to be THE product after the first two or three washes. If you see no results by then, it means you probably won't see them at all.
Hi!
Thanks for your tips =)
I will try cutting down on the washing. I Think thats the problem also, My scalp produces so much grease because of over-washing.
I was in the mall yesterday and you´re right. Garnier Fructis has a shampoo for mixed hair types. I will try it out later. Must empty som bottles first =)
Have a great weekend!

Hi Jim, I have had long hair for twenty years now it is presently halfway down my back. It has been though for most of the time about four inches below my belt. It is dark brown almost black and thick and shiny. I am intending to grow it that length again now as my wife and I both prefer it that long. I wear it in a low pony tail or braid most of the time and occasionally as a high pony tail or braid. I have found after much experimentation that Dove shampoo and conditioner for regular hair works the best of all. My hair is healthy thick and shiny and very rich almost mahogany in color. The only other thing I do with it is apply a small amount of olive oil while it is still wet after washing it. I only wash it three times a week unless I get real dirty, as I feel excessive washing is very unhealthy for it. I have a heavy masculine musky oil that I put a drop of in the olive oil as well which I think gives it a subtle but pleasing smell. My Wife always wanted me to grow it long. I went on the ship for six months and let it grow so it was at below my shoulders when I came home. She was excited
and loved it, she called it my man handle and she used it too!
I was hooked. Kelly
Thanks Kelly for your great tips!
I can´t wait to sport a ponytail. my hair is now shoulder length in the back with fringe just covering my eyes, and hair covering my ears. Like a 70´s hairstyle!
Anyway take care and thanks for your respond!
