Hey, guys, so I read this forum sometimes, I`m letting my hair grow since October 2008. I have no good quality pics atm, so i`ll prolly post later.
Many people say my hair looks good, but end up saying that it looks dry. I, too, think it is kinda dry.
In the back part, tho, it looks healthy, while on the front side (forehead) it looks dry and kinda broken, you know? Like if you look from a distance, it looks ok, but if you get kinda close youll see some hair that is kinda shorter than the rest and seems kinda broken, or dry, dunno for sure. It looks like it got some frizz. hm
It seems that if I let my hair get in front of my face, it will be straight and alright, but I kinda need to see where I`m going, to I put the hair to the sides (like parting in the middle) and it kinda rests in my cheeks. It covers a lot of my face, something that I wanted to work on also.
Plus, sometimes (right now, for example), that I put it behind my ears, for the sake of seeing better lol. That causes my hair to do this kind of loop shape where its resting on my ears, to when I release them from the ears they get this loopy shape.
I just wanted to have more control over my hair, thats all, and I wanted it to look healthier, possibly.
Well anyways, i`ll try to post pics later, but id like to know if there is anyways to keep my hair hidrated (i tried some stuff like those things that you leave on the hair for about 10 mins then remove with water). I currently am using Nexxus shampoo, conditioner and tried using once the leave in thingy for better hidration, didnt get much better tho lol
Kind of a wall of text heh, English is not my first language so if you dont understand something please let me know
Thank you, rock on
Hello Fabio, for one whose first language isn't English you were very clear so I would not worry about that. A picture(s) asap would definitely be very helpful in assessing the situation.
First, how often are you shampooing your hair? The more often you shampoo your hair the more likely it is to be dry even if you do condition it when you do shampoo. Curly hair tends to respond well to decreased frequency of shampooing and increased moisture, whereas straight hair has a tendency to get greasy faster and typically cannot last as long without shampooing as curly hair. However these are simple generalizations and will certainly not hold true in all cases.
I wish you the best of luck in finding your answer.
Hi, Fabio,
If your hair is dry, as well as washing it less often, you could also try using a light oil, such as jojoba or sweet almond oil, on the ends. Rub a couple of drops between your palms and smooth over your hair. It works especially well when the hair is wet as it helps to retain the moisture. Coconut oil also works, but I find that too sticky.
I stand by good 'ol Olive Oil for curing dry ends. Works wonders for me.
