i got few gray hair on my head i dont know why but only few months back i had not a single gray strand but now i got them and every few days i see them increasing what could be the cause i am only 22 years old. Could it be shampoo, i use head and shoulders anti dandruff shampoo or could it be some internal bodily imbalance? otherwise my hair is very thick and healthy its just all of a sudden it has started to turn grey. I am worrieed what should i do?

I would suggest starting to complain about how things were so much better when you were young and how kids these days have no respect and play their music too loud ....
Grey hair often happens around your age - my wife was 23 when we met and claims that she got her first grey hair the next day.

You sure that she wasn't just telling you that you made her older? =p
But...it could also be a sign of an underlying health problem (eg anemia) if it's that sudden. You might want to get a check-up and some labs drawn.
Hi all, I have read the board awhile but never posted here.
As most have said it is probably just nature. However, I agree with the poster I just quoted. I have a strange condition which can make hair turn white in spots. So, think and check all over yourself and see if anything is "off." It could be related so if you notice anything unusual go to doctor.
Welcome to my world I've only got a bit of grey and it's been getting worse over the years and shampoo has ever fixed it yet!
i would say that it is not the shampoo but instead the fact that certain people get gray hair before others and it is genetic so i would deduce this is what is happening.
You may just be turning gray. My french teacher last year had mostly gray hair and gray beard at 29. Different people get it at different times. Really hope mine goes white when it does though, long white hair is awesome
long time no see,

Not to hijack this thread, but how are your dreads coming along Jarvis?.. I'd love to see some pics of 'em bro!

OK. I was gonna wait until my next update, but here it goes: I went a month in, had 3 half-decent ones on the back of my head, but couldn't do it and combed. Theres just too much going on right now for me to make it work. I missed brushing it, which is the one thing I thought I'd be happy about. I freaked out over how permanent it is, which was my biggest hangup before the decision to do em. I missed the different, sometimes overtly feminine, styles I could do. And there are some other reasons that I don't feel like explaining at the moment.
But anyway, I was able to cut them without any loss of length or thickness. I tried it, it didn't work, but I don't have any regrets about it.
Peace, sorry for the thread-jacking,
Jarvis
Ah, I'm sorry man, I wasn't trying to rush you into telling me, I was just curious. I completely understand your reasons though, as I would have the same. I've considered dreads, but would really miss brushing my hair and ponytails/braids, etc..
Glad to hear that you don't regret any of your decisions, and that you didn't lose length or thickness from cutting your few dreads. Looking forward to your next update!

"... Really hope mine goes white when it does though, long white hair is awesome..."
That was the real reason I started letting my hair grow as a "Senior adult". My grandfather had longhair (for his era) which was silky, snowy white and curly (a'la Mark Twain), When my temples started turning white is when I stopped getting haircuts....I am disappointed that so far it is not as white as I would like, but that can change overnight.
Personally, I think natural highlights look great on guys of any age.....

i see hair turning gray or white as a symbol of wisdom. I have some grays here and there

Meh. Mine just started in both my big ol beard and my hair. Someone here...(I freaked about this too) told me some good advice
If it Grays it Stays!!!
so Ill embrace every gray now.
But if you are concerned, there are products that tone down the gray without dying the hair. Like those color tinted shampoos
