First that decapitated thread, and now this. The stereotype must be true, longhairs like metal.
Some do and some don't and would not want to pigeon-hole ourselves!
ROFL!!!
Priceless comment, Nick, I love it!
I'm not into metal, if it makes you feel any better, knowing that at least one person here doesn't fit into that particular stereotype. I got hooked on Swing music when I started taking partner dance lessons a long time ago. I love love LOVE the Big Band sound of the '30s & '40s, early Rock & Roll tunes of the '50s & early '60s, R&B, even Frank Sinatra (OMG, tell me that isn't true - LOL)....
I mean, the day that I can do a West Coast Swing dance or Foxtrot across the room to a Heavy Metal tune, maybe I'll reconsider; but, until then... let's face it: I'm just a misfit (LOL)!!

How about a 1.2.3 1.2.3 to Ace of Spades! I think Lemmy would be proud :-)
There is definitely a connection between heavy metal/hard rock music and long hair. It is a staple part of the image.
However there is still much diversity with male long hair and music preferences vary with each individual. I listen to many styles now and growing hair is much more than having a "metal image", it's a lot more personal.
I ordered a Warpath T shirt out of the UK about a week ago. Can't wait till that comes in! Maybe a longhair update perhaps??
Headbanging is so much more fun when you can feel your hair thrashing back and forth over your neck.
very true, there's definitely some association ....
That is really cool to see some Indian "metal heads".
I know it might sound like I'm ignorant or stereotyping but there is a large Indian community in my city and most of the Indian men are your regular bunch, mostly short hair and very conservative.
Hehe ..thats interesting to know ...it is a fairly good sized metal community down here in Bangalore...with the likes of early priest , motorhead & the 80s power and thrash ....though we have not witnessed any major acts ...but with the internet download setting in, its changing rapidly...& ya we don't either get any original cds... I ship all my stuff.....& ya the migrant Indian community in the U.S. is your average Joe working his ass hard to save up some $$$$$ ..!!...
You've both got nice hair and shirts!
