I said I'd get pictures up as soon as I could. Schools out unfortunately, and the camera actually has a memory card today...
So here they are. My 3 years is on the 15th, I figured you guys wouldn't mind if I posted the pictures earlier. I don't know how big they're gonna be, so sorry if they're huge.

Thanks, man. Yeah, for the past couple of months I've been trying to mix like Skid Row and The Black Crowes into one style. It weird at times, but I think it usually works out fine.
The Eyeliner is a new addition from thursday. A girl thought I'd look good with it, and I do. Plus I spent a good 20 minutes trying to take it off that day and it wasn't working that well so I'm just gonna wear it full time. I've randomly taken out my phone so I can look at my eyes in the shiny part. It makes me feel self-centered... but oh well.
Atleast you have a pretty good goatee though. Mine looks better in person, but not by much.
Figure I should add my hair-care routine, just for the hell of it. I'm kinda hyper right now even though I got only got like an hour and 15 minutes of sleep last night so I may add another reply or two in the near future if I think of something else to say.
I water wash almost every day but monday, unless I don't have to go anywhere. Like this past week I shampooed monday; water wash tues, wed, thurs, fri; no shower sat; water wash sunday and today. I may use shampoo tomorrow I don't know.
I just got a new brush, some cheapo plastic one from walmart, actually no brand name on it just walmart. But its the best one I've had. The bristles are longer and closer than usual and it does a really good job.
Since its the winter I do blow dry it atleast twice a week because I'm usually a little late and its really cold outside. I blowdry on high and hot but it doesn't mess up my hair at all, maybe I'm just lucky.
Still sleep with a braid to stop tangles, but outside of my house its down 99% of the time because I have long hair and I want to enjoy it as often as possible.

Well, unlike me, you happen to live in an open-minded community, so why not knock yourself out if you can! In Kragujevac, Serbia, long nails on a man are unforgivable, I know that well enough.
Open-minded community? Nope, its that I don't live in one and puch the boundries of it. Hair is a good idiot filter; makeup and all this other stuff is an even better one, I know who I'll get along with by how they look at me the second or third time. There are a good bit of us hippie metalhead people though, so that helps.
So you have nail scissors and emery boards handy then!
I got em too, have to keep my 4 fingers on my left short. so to be more specific, I had 6 long nails.
Jarvis.... awesome pictures! I'm relatively new here, but read almost all of the posts. Your hair in fantastic, no joke. I love the eyeliner, something I wish I could try but feel a little silly at my age... 43.

Thanks, and it will be even more fantastic when it gets down to lower back. I haven't been here that long either, just since June or so. I already had two and a half years on my own before finding this place though.

And nah, I'm not getting them. I put that in a thread back on friday then a buttload of threads were added right after and it got skipped over a little. I missed brushing my hair, the girly styles, and the girl I'm talking to (same who got me addicted to eyeliner) really hated the idea and that sped up the decision to brush again. She also doesn't want my hair to be any longer than it is, but I've already said I'm not cutting or trimming it at all and I'm letting it go atleast mid-back.

Thanks Oren. Yeah, its kinda hard to believe its been 3 years since I stepped foot inside a hair place. Yet at the same time I almost can't remember ever being in one. Well I won't be in one anytime soon... you think they miss my (parents) money? I'm still thinking about the blonde streaks that I mentioned in my other thread. The only problems are I'm not completely sure on whether I want it done and I'm pretty cheap so I don't know if I'd ever spend that much money on hair dye (becasue theres no way in hell I'm doing something like that w/out a stylist and I know of atleast one I can trust).

Yeah, thats what I though when I first saw your picture.
My hair can be that light, it all depends on how wet it is, how clean it is, and how much sun has hit it recently (not much in the middle of the winter). And I've got like ass-backwards OCD and hate when things are too clean or neat, hence the messy hair inthe first picture.

I think they'd look cool on you although the length would be shorter. On the one hand you have good hair and it looks good now. On the other hand your young and have loads of time to regrow and do whatever.

Yeah I put the explanation on that in another thread friday. But I'm not going to do them. But I started it, I realized a month in I wouldn't be able to, and I brushed em out. No harm to the hair and no regrets because alteast I realized its not for me. I missed all my girly styles and running my fingers through my hair... and other people running their fingers through my hair.
Your hair looks ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!
And you wear eyeliner, I found that amusing. I know goths and glam rockers can't get enough of those female beauty products. I for one quite like the androgynous male look and it suits you. It probably wouldn't work well on me though and I don't think of could muster up enough courage to wear makeup in public. I do listen to alot of 80s metal so the image rubs off on me a bit.

Yeah. I'm a little of a mix between goth, glam, hippie, punk, etc. I just throw em all together haphazardly and see what happens. I think it works out pretty well.

Jarvis. It is straight which makes it easy to grow to waist length or longer. From what I see, based on a height estimate, you should have hair to your belt in about 1 1/2 years. From the photo, I estimated you to be about 5'6" tall.
I would strongly caution against dying such a nice mane. (You mentioned it in an earlier post.) The only exception would possibly be HENNA, which is a natural hair dye. As far as I know, henna causes no damage but takes several hours to apply.
The eyeliner works very well for you. We have another guy here (Rafael) who I think uses eyeliner. He is in the user's directory. I have a crazy idea: try eyeliner on your sparse stache and goatee. It may make them show up better.
In closing, I have to say again, your hair looks super. Great update.

Glad you decided the dreads weren't for you, I think your hair as it is looks great, nice and thick and strongly resilient and tough, after your dread "experiment".
You could always try temporary micro braids like what Stevie Wonder once had to satisfy your curiosity without any permanent damage being done.
Your hair has grown well for only 3 years.

Thanks. I've though about the micro briads. Once every couple days or so someone braids atleast part of my hair. I'm just a life size doll half the time.
You were right to keep your hair the way it is--it looks good that way. (Your profile photo makes you look like Steven Wilson from Porcupine Tree, BTW!)
Not too many dudes do much beyond the eyeliner--fortunately you don't need it...
