I've been growing my hair out for a few months, and the bangs are about to the tip of my nose. The problem is, my hair is SUPER thick and its really poofy, so im starting to get worried that im not gonna be able to make it look good and its just gonna be this big old puff on the top of my melon. the lady who cuts my hair has been thinning it out, but it doesnt seem to help much. Another thing is that i have a pretty bad cowlick in the front, so my bangs look a lot shorter than they are, and i dont know if that will get much better when it gets longer. I dont know, maybe im not cut out to have long hair. :( Any tips or hints would be much appreciated!
Theres a familiar story. All I can say is wait dude.
Cowlick!...SLURP!

There's your first problem . . . don't thin it out. When you do that, the short hair tends to stand straight up & out and pushes hair on top up & out with it. Ugh.
Just be patient and wait it out. You might try a "Shine" type product (made with silicone oils) to help keep it more manageable. I tried something called "Duke," it's a hair goop that really keeps hair in place. I forget what's in it, but I put too much in and my hair definitely looks like it (looks like it's got too much greasy kid stuff in it). Gonna try a smaller dab tomorrow . . .
