1.How often do you do it? (If even)
2.What product/s do you typically use?
3.how long do you leave the product in before rinsing?
=================================================================
1.I do it about once every week or two.
2.I am using my silicone-based conditioner which is very nourishing for curls. Contains many beneficial additives. It is a rinse out premium conditioner, not a special "leave in" or "deep treatment" product, but can be used for this purpose all the same, and it gives me a good result.
3. Still experimenting with the residual time prior to rinsing. Some people leave it in for as little as 20 mins while others recommend several hours. My main concern is product build-up and coating of the hair. I usually wait about 25-30 mins before the conditioner has fully dried in my hair and then thoroughly rinse with warm water to remove any residue. When I want to leave conditioner in my hair I use cone free product on most other days, for this intended purpose.
Don't know if I've ever done it as you described below.
I like all products made by "EO" (which stands for "Essential Oil"). Also Avalon is another all-natural hair care product company. You can find it here in the US (in California at least) at Health Food type stores, Whole Foods Market, or even Trader Joe's sometimes.
I just put in some "Hair Milk" (made by a company called, "Carol's Daughter") -- in fact, I definitely put in "too much" tonight! Usually I just leave it in overnight and keep it in until the next day or so (the next time I feel like doing a Water-wash Only)... But I focus on only applying it to the ends of my hair and the lower half of my mane (I DON'T put it on my scalp, not intentionally, at least). It only has 3 ingredients listed: "Sweet Almond Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil and Essential Oil of Lemongrass."
It also says the following:
"Paraben-free. No petroleum, mineral oil, or artificial color."
... Hope that info helps!
