Found in "downtown" Dallas Center, Iowa.
I still have yet to see another longhair man here....hmmmmm
Maybe it is something in the corn....
Maybe that is why they need Hair Repair Shops....
That would explain why we have no users from Iowa.
Across the Mississippi in Wisconsin we have plenty of longhairs about, especially in Madison.
If any of our users need their hair repaired we now know where to send them.
Kevin
I do not understand either, it is beyond me to imagine what this shops angle is.
I was visiting my sister in Iowa for a week in the mid-1990s, and I saw so few men with beards there that week that I could have counted them on my fingers. We went by one friend of hers, and the friend warned us at the door that their dog "did not like men". The dog took an immediate and intense liking for me, though, and the friend said it must be "because the dog has never seen a man with a beard before". I guess I wasn't a "man", but "something else"?
I think I saw only three longhairs there that week as well. My sister lives in a college town, so it's not like the place was particularly backward.
As cold as it is in Iowa, you'd think you'd see MORE hair, like you do in other cold places like Montana, but you don't. Yeah, Walter, it must be something in the corn...
Sorry you're having to endure Iowa at this time of year, Walter. Today was the first day this year here in SF that we actually opened the windows because it got too warm in the house.

I guess I wasn't a "man", but "something else"?
Yeah, a man with manly facial hair. you were superman!

I heard from folks back home that my Iris and Roses are in bloom....attached photo is my "Iowa garden" sigh....
Ohh! Pretty picture!
For teasing friends in Chicago and DC about the weather there, they escaped here for the long weekend...I did mention that they managed to hit the longest stretch of pleasant weather this year. Regardless of this, A. decided to move up her plans to move to SF several months since one of my roommates is moving out. Heh. She actually contemplated just staying!
Hi Walter,
Hmmmmmmmm, very interesting find!!I guess it would be chancy to go inside and inquire about what "hair repair" is.They may want to demonstrate rather than tell.If you do decide to go in and ask be sure you keep your hair under cover so they don't get any ideas. So tell me, it looks like that establishment was carved out of a shipping container with a window installed. How classy:)

How classy..
The mayor of Dallas Center dropped by the job site today....talk about class !!?? I'm in the big time now !! Ha !
I googled Iowa Hair Repair and there were a few salons with that name. Whatever it is, it seems to be contagious.
Hey Walter,
The last time I was in Iowa, I saw a longhaired guy, -- in fact, his hair was QUITE long, almost half-way down his back...
Of course, unfortunately, the last time I drove through Iowa was back in 1979!

I know some salons provide a hair repair treatment, they basically put some keratin-based product on the hair. I don't believe it can actually repair damaged hair or glue split ends, though...
Perhaps after 10 cuts one would need "Hair Repair?" Sure beats me, but leave it to Walter to find the unusual. Have you located my brains yet? LOL :-)
Take care Walter
Justin~
"...Have you located my brains yet?..."
WOW WALTER!
Where are they? I MUST have them back at once! And now I remember what I forgot. I used to think with purple matter, NOT gray matter. Of course!
Thank you so much dear friend for finding these.
Justin~
