2006 Olympic gold medal snowboard champion Shaun White tries to defend his title tonight. What a great longhair representative! His hair is incredible and his talent amazing. It's great to see a fellow longhair succeed to the degree that he has.
Shaun White
Agreed.
The Wiki page you link to shows him in the same picture with someone possibly even rarer than a long-haired athlete, a long-haired businessman, Sir Richard Branson (Virgin Airlines, Virgin Mobile phones and originally owner of Virgin Records). The latter went to high school in the same town as me, but he went to the posh school whereas I went to the state school.
Switch your mobile phone to Virgin! Don't pay your phone bill to a shorthair, LOL!
COOL! As I will be a CEO of a family owned business in the future, I will be a member of that rare breed. Hey, what's that poster that states "I took the road less traveled"?
Sir Richard Branson may be an odd fellow, but I applaud his success as a businessman. Say, didn't I see a picture of the CEO of Sun Microsystems sporting a ponytail?

You are right, Jonathan Schwartz is another of those rare longhaired businessmen. Hopefully the tide will turn and long hair will be much more accepted in corporate settings. I live near San Francisco and long hair guys in suits are somewhat common.

Update: Mr. Schwartz is no longer the CEO of Sun. He stepped down just this month.
Yes! Did you see his long hair flying?
Haha, he and I are both into snowboarding and long hair. Snowboarding is my favorite sport.
So when are we going to see you in the Olympics? ;-)
With your hair flying.
Always go for the "Gold!" :-)
Cheers!
Justin~
Sounds great and get it up on You tube :-)
-- Hey Jason, Shaun was awesome. His hair is fabu, and I was in tears last night watching his awesome performance man! He may be back for 2016 in Russia! - John - AKA: longhairguys1 (Mission, KS)
I watched it too and I have been watching very little of the Olympics. He was amazing and the hair was very cool.
All Hail the Flying Tomato!

What amazed us was how he was in a different league from everyone else in the competition. None of them were able to beat his first score on either of their two tries, except Shaun himself. He didn't even have to make a second go at it, but he knew that millions wanted to see him perform again, so he did, and he bested his earlier score.
Very telling was where NBC showed one other snowboarder and Shaun in the same frame (two separate photos taken with the camera in one place, so the backgrounds aligned and you could see both of the guys in the photo although they were there a few minutes apart). Everyone thought the other guy had sailed up pretty high when they saw him perform, but Shaun was twice as far from the ground as he was! I said to Larry that Shaun was flying higher than our two-story house!
Once in a while we see someone who just leaves everyone else in the dust. Shaun, like Michael Phelps, is one of those rare guys. The other competitors strive to do their best, while they know, and they know everyone else knows, that they will soon be roadkill. Meanwhile, Shaun was not there so much to compete with them as to compete with himself.
An amazing guy, and longhair, for sure!

Gives whole new meaning the world of Heinz doesn't it!
When he wiped out and bloodied himself a few weeks ago, one reporter referred to him as Flying Tomato Paste!

I have learned about Shawn White by playing "Shawn White Snowboarding" on the 360 a while before seeing him coming on in the 2010 Olympics. I believed that him winning the gold is inevitable as I watched him snowboard in the halfpipe (although the ice and weather conditions helped support his performance). I do like his red, curly hair. True, people refer to him as a "flying tomato" except he does not like being called that anymore.

We discussed Shaun on lunch break the other day. 4 co-workers, all short hair except the one female. I popped off, "He's awesome because of his hair, it gives him power." Lol.
They all thought it funny except the drywall guy who's a douche anyway, he says "No, it's because all the years of hard work and practice." I could have argued about all the others who are not awesome and worked just as hard but I didn't. I just looked at him and said, "It's because of his hair." He dropped his eyes cause he knew it was true.

LOL, great story, Paul! I find it especially funny considering the fact that both Shaun and you have not only a similar length of awesome hair; but also a similar shade of flaming RED!!!!
Sounds like this drywall guy tends to take himself just a little too seriously...
Thanks also to Jason for the original thread on Olympic Gold Medalist, Shaun!!

It sounds like you were having a conversation with Dwight Schrute.
