Well, I'm finally to the point where I can tie my hair up, just like I've always wanted.... Sigh... But I still don't know if it's what I want. Here's my thoughts:
1.) Tied up, my hair's fine, but when untied, it's a horrible mess that gets in my face and mouth all the time.
2.) I think my hair pulled back makes me look older, and it shows my enormous forehead more.
3.) When I don't tie my hair up, I look like the 50-year old woman I work with (see 3rd pic, 3rd row), and the Quaker Oats guy. Yeah.
4.) My family says I look like Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons, I think I look like Mario Batali, and my boss says I have a "Steven Seagal thing" going. So I'm getting mixed reactions.
So, at this point, I'm having trouble deciding what I want to do from here. I have it narrowed down to 3 choices:
1.) Keep tying up what I have, and let it grow more.
2.) Keep tying up what I have, but go to a stylist and get some bangs - I think they look cool, and they would hide my forehead (in exchange for getting used to hair on my forehead)
3.) Go to a professional stylist and get my hair cut to medium length with bangs, like the guys on Row 2. This has always been the hairstyle that I think is the sexiest, but I've never done it because it looks hard to maintain, it looks uncomfortable, and I dunno if I can do it with my wavy/frizzy hair.
Which option do YOU think I should do?
Cute guy #3. I just looks easier. And you cant pull off Quacker oads dude without that hattage!
In my opinion, you ought to let if grow a bit more (at least another six inches), and see what you think then, for a couple of reasons:
1) If you don't like it then, you can always go for Options 2 or 3 at that point.
2) If you go for option 2 or especially 3 now, you'll likely never know if you would have liked it better with more length.
For what it's worth, I don't think your forehead is as "big" a problem as you apparently do. And remember, it's a lot easier to cut some off than to cut some back on.

Don't try to look like anyone else's picture. Be yourself. and if you decide to go long, don't cut at all.
Enormous forehead? I think it's just a complex. I'd grow it out another 2 years or so and then decide. Your hair is barley long now so you haven't really given it a good chance yet. Once it gets around mid-back you may like your "own look" a little bit more. The real reason for longhair is to be different from everyone else.
Oh yeah, the bangs idea is a terrible idea because only Conan the Barbarian can really pull off that look.

OK, so it sounds like at the moment, it's best to keep growing my hair out, which I agree with. But let me ask a follow-up question...
Does anyone know someone who has bangs + long hair like the 3 anime characters in this picture? And is this style even doable in real life?
