This is just an idea that popped into my head recently.
Provided the length is clean to start with, without it being wet, could you just condition the length then rinse like usual? Seems you would get better moisture content into the hair this way without diluting the conditioner? Or should I be quiet now!? lol
I am pretty sure moisture helps the conditioner spread throughout your hair, so it is somewhat more evenly distributed instead of concentrated all in one spot like it most likely would be if you rubbed it in dry.
Not 100% sure though, anyone care to clarify?
I dry condition if I am going to be doing yard work. I know it sounds odd.
I put in contioner at the ends. Gently comb it through and then go outside in the sun. I wear a hat, but the ends need some protection. The heat helps the conditioner penetrate through and keeps it safe from sun damage. Otherwise, thats the only time I ever do it.
Thats why they have leave in conditioners.
I think the water helps with the moisturizing of hair the same way it does for skin. For example, I have a mild case of psoriasis that only shows up on my elbows. The only way I can get the scaling and cracking to stop is to get the skin wet, then apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly. That holds in the moisture the same way conditioner holds moisture on your hair. I don't think conditioner alone will do much good.
Can anyone confirm this?
Interesting. I never thought of that. Since I work a lot outside I think I may try that idea. My hands crack badly in the winter.

Hi Paul,
I used to do a lot of landscaping and maintenance gardening jobs, working outdoors year-round as well, and my hands were constantly cracking and drying out in winter (because always sticking them in a lot of diet and mud).
"Mane 'n Tail", made by "Strait Arrow" (the same company that makes that shampoo & conditioner for hair), also makes an incredible hand lotion which works WONDERS (and almost INSTANTLY)!!!
Another company's hand lotion is called "Udderly Smooth" (I think that's the name)...
Once my hands are shot, it's a total pain to work with when they're all dry and cracked and sore and sometimes even bleeding. These products have worked the best for me, I highly recommend them!!!
