I'm 2 months from my last haircut now which was a buzz cut. Didn't have much to start with on this journey. It's not long enough to post a pic, but I'm enjoying the trip so far. I kept it slicked back for the first month until it was trained to stay back. Lately I just combed it back while wet and it stayed there. I've got pretty thick hair and the top was getting a bit puffy so I tried parting in the middle this morning and found it feathers back pretty nicely. I'll have some training to do to get it use to the new style, but this should work pretty good for then next several months I hope.
The only thing that's bothering me is the neck hair in the back that grows up. It seems to be competing with the hair that grows down and is forcing everything into a tail in the center rather than letting it fall on its own. My wife said to just leave it be and the head hair will eventually overtake it.
So, I'll keep treating it right, avoid the scissors, and post a pic when I get to a point where I feel I've made some progress worth sharing. In the meantime I'll just keep on reading.
Welcome Kevin!
Sounds like you're off to a great start.
The thick hair will certainly look awesome long.
Just give it time and patience. In time, added length and gravity will keep most if the "unruly" stuff under control.
Best of luck,
