One of these days I should attend a beard and mustache convention / competition, as I think I'd enjoy it. I'd like to figure out something a little "different" to do w/ my beard (which currently I'm trying out keeping as a goatee)... My mind changes more often than the weather about that, though (UNlike my head hair, which I have not cut other than half-inch "dustings" since that stupid short haircut in Y2K, thankgod).

Although I would compete, lately I am getting called Jesus by Co workers, children on the subway, old Ladies at a berger joint....and worst of all, from the dude at the beer store.
I guess it's a celebrity look. Maybe that would help me in a competition.

It sounds like you are going through the "Biblical phase" - that point where the Jesus comments occur most often.
When I'm with another fellow who has a long white beard, we've gotten "Jesus and God" comments.

I think what the school system here is really teaching is early "survival skills" to young and budding long-hairs. Those that do make it here are a tough lot.

Our MLHH founder, Victor still has me beat for beard and hair length. His hair was the longest there by a long shot.
That fellow with the long dark beard got 1st place in the "Gnarliest Beard" category - a very nice beard indeed! Victor 2nd, and I, 3rd place in that category.
Maybe someday I might have a beard as awesome as your's and Victor's, but for now I hope to join you at an amusement park. Nice photos!
