Note that I started with practically a shaved head, and my hair curls and shrinks quite considerably when left to dry alone.

I am so glad to hear about your decision to grow your hair out from a shaved head... and to my eyes, your long curls looks hands-down TERRIFIC!!!
Here in San Francisco, the shaved head look is very popular in this town for some reason. Since I have a lot of friends around my age who have lost most of their hair due to MPB, I can totally understand why they would make such a decision; but, I've always been a bit perplexed why someone with an excellent head of hair on their head would choose to shave theirs off, too.... Never mind, it doesn't really matter, as I realize that human beings are all different! My point, though is this: if you've got it, why not GROW it?!!!! Even if I were totally bald on top, I'm so pro-longhair that I believe I'd still grow my own out, whatever I could of it!
I also want to say: GREAT pics, David!! You also most definitely have a very fine physique, as well as nice hair!!!

Hey your hair looks great and your well on your way! Hope things g well in your ourney. Long hair up here near Seattle seems to be the in thing! well with many more then in the past which is cool. Hope your good and the best of luck!
