I decided to start a new thread, as by the time I was able to answer from my first posting, a lot had happened :)
I first wanted to thank: (from my first post on Feb 22)
Urban Cowboy (Ken)
White Tail
longhairedone
Hairball (Mark)
and
longhair511
For their kind words..
Also, regarding hairbrushing, I do brush my hair, stimulating th scalp, maybe once a week or week and a half.
Being that my hair is curly (It gets big ifno product is in it),
I make it a habit of heavily oiling my hair (cocunut oil), and possibly using conditioner (for this I like Cholesterol hair treatment, but any conditioner will do), and maybe adding some water , if needed.
I do this to prvide the most possible "slip" to my hair, to be able o go trough my hair, and to not damage it or pull it while bruahing.
I use a Denman brush (great for detangling curly hair, and stimulates the scalp), starting carefully at the bottom, then workng my way to the top., then working the scalp too.
Most of the time, I do this insections, for more control, then wrap each section up, but I can do the whole head too.
After the brushing, and wrapping the hair up (either 4 section buns/ bantu knots, or one bun) I put a shower cap o my head, then a satin cap (to protect my air while sleepng)
I sleep like this, which keeps my hair eat, and moist.
When I wake p in the morning, I Conditioner wash, rince, then reapply oads of conditioner, leave it in while finger smoothing it into a ponytail (n the shower), using a gentle cotton band/elastic.
I thin wrap the ponytail into a bun, then apply another gentle cotton band/elastic to secure it. I then place 4 bobby pins to help secure stray side hairs. Even though the frot doesn't reach the bun, when this conditionnered hair dries, it will set like gel, so no worries.
long-winded here :)
