Anyone know any financial professionals with long hair? The only ones I can think of are the hedge fund guys on MSNBC. I'm going to be pitching managing money to wealthy people. Wife's saying buzz it off, and I'm almost complicit...
First off I'd skip you wife's idea as I wouldn't want a skinhead managing my own money! To me that is a very unappealing look even though I've seen business types like that.I'd recommend just brushing your hair neatly first then tail it so it lays just so nice on the back of your suit.I'm assuming your hair is straight but even wavy you can do this.I can also say I've seen business people with tails in the past so its no unusual.Good luck and again, DO NOT, listen to you wife!NO NO NO!Cheers

There is Pete Najarian
financial professional with ponytail
I work for HRBlock and several of us (in Los Angeles) have long hair...I will tell you it is far more important to know your stuff, if you do, people will look past the long hair. I have only been growing for 1.5 years and so far, no negative comments, in fact, some ask for me, not by my name, but they want the "guy with the pony tail"...but this is Los Angeles. good luck.
I think it has a lot to do with where you live but more importantly is your own attitude about it. I would be the same person without my hair but I would not be happy with my appearance. That would affect my job performance.
You said she wants you to "buzz" it. The buzz cut is the most hideous hair cut ever devised and should be worn only by... I don't know, maybe child molesters as part of their punishment.

A friend of mine was in the financial field for many years, several of them working directly as an account manager for very large, personal accounts. He wore a ponytail and I don't remember him ever mentioning it being an issue.
