Hey everyone!!
So life has got in the way a bit and I completely forgot about hair forums and this site, sorry to say. About a week ago I suddenly remembered it was my 32nd month since I started growing my hair. I've had .. 3 trims since then (not really trims, rather, cuts!!) but I'm happy I have an overall net gain of length and not loss of it, lol. Length varies as I have so many layers, it now varies between collar length in the front to shoulder blade length at the back (when wet or straight, of course...).
The weird colour combination is basically a mixture. The last two or three inches of ends have been chemically dyed a long time ago, so they're the lightest and most damaged. I have about 4 inches of natural roots which are like ash blond or greyish...and the rest of my hair went through like 3 henna treatments. Hence the grey-into-red thing going on. I know it doesn't look at it's best here... I had been brushing it constantly everyday for a month for an awful job and only started treating and oiling it again now.
Why do i always tend to write an essay everytime I update?! haha
I just wanted to say well done to:
Silviu, Cewyn, Vincent, Hegg, Jarvis, longhairedone, Chris, Pat Medha, EnergeticKrusher, unionstation and Mark S... your hair is growing well and in great condition. keep it up!!
Enjoy then. let me know what you think etc.
Thanks :)
Shawn
Looks good: I like the natural curls and it is at a length and bushiness which really suits you.
Hi Shawn,
What a fabulous update! You are blessed with the most incredibly THICK curls, so be sure to keep it growing! It's good to hear from you again.
Keep it growing,
David
Yay ! Your hair is awesome, Shawn ! So much volume, and the length is really coming =)
Vivien
Hi Shawn,
Good to hear from you and thanks for the update. All I can say is truely amazing.
Cheers,
John.B
I read your your post and I noticed that you did not put my name in the list of those who are taking good care of their hair. Have you seen my update back in December? Maybe you didn't see my update then or you believe that I am taking very poor care of my hair. For your information, that promotes jealousy for me. On the other hand, I like how your hair curls. The grayish on the top of your hair might be the blue sky shining on your hair. It takes quite some time to grow out curly hair.
Matthew
Hi Matt,
I would not worry about it and sometimes we all forget to mention people. Perhaps I've bored some people with my "n'th updates" and I get the trimmers love it!
Cheers,
John.B
And this is why about ten years ago I removed a list of my friends on my web page, and to this day I don't join sites that ask that I designate friends. You always leave someone off, and whether it be intentional or accidental, no one wants to see that they are on a "B" list instead of an "A" list, or to see they did not make your lists at all!

I laughed at first then wondered you might be serious.
For what it's worth I did an update over a year ago and he didn't mention my name either.
Nobody loves me.......Boo hoo
Just remember Matthew, there's more of us not on his list than there are on it.
Bill is sooooo right (once again), it's not a good idea to make list.
Paul
What nonsense: this was a short list a few people not an attempt to sort people into categories. You must learn to realise such things and not seek attention.

No.. I did not mean to cause offence.
The people I mentioned are those which are currently on the home page at the moment... I couldn't possibly read every single thread post from when I last visited the forum, and I couldn't reply to the threads especially at the bottom of the page as the poster of them would probably not have thought anyone else would have replied.
Sorry about me been a little harsh, but in the future, please don't forget about me when you list people who are taking good care of their hair. If you want, you can look at my December update and then give me your opinions on my hair.

By the way, I love seeing curls in your hair and I get excited about seeing curls in your hair. If you pull on a curl to straighten it, it springs back to its original curl. If I were to meet you, I would like to investigate every single curl in your hair.
Thank you for considering that.
Matthew
That's fine, not to worry :)
I will of course reply to your updates in future as now I can return regularly to this website to see what's new.
Thank you for linking me to your update. I'm very jealous of your length! And keep it up, your hair is growing very well.
See you
Shawn

Amazing hair well done. The colouring makes it all the more interesting, in a good way
MattT
The longer it gets the better it looks, and as expected the curs
starts to relax a bit nearer the scalp. Now it should seem to
grow faster from this point.
I'll offer you my highest compliments....even though you didn't
mention my name.
LOL
Kevin
Haha.. thank you!
I mentioned the names of those people who had posts on the main page of updates I could see at the time I made my thread, however I'm sure your hair is growing well too :). Please don't take offence.
If nothing else it was an opportunity to take the piss.
(grin)
Kevin
Hey Shawn, sorry about that subject line but just couldn't control myself!LOL.I'm dripping with envy at those guys who made the grade.Grrrrrrrrrrr.......
OK, enough foolin' around and on to your update.I love, love, love the way you hair looks as it is so unique. Please don't do any further damage from dying as yours is one great mane! It's also nice seeing a post by you as at least you finally did remember your friends here at mlhh.I know we all get busy but always remember the hair comes first:)Cheers
Mark
Thanks for your comment Mark :-)
Everyone on this site 'makes the grade' really... I just mentioned those guys as their updates caught my eye rather than reply to each and every thread. Apparently quite a few people commented on this so i guess its best not to list names anymore :P
i would love to see how your hair is progressing!
Shawn
Hey Shawn, don't worry about who and who not you complimented as I know you were just commenting on those who recently put up pictures.Certainly those people would see your comment in your thread rather than wayyyyyyyyyy down the page.As for an update by me....suuuuure!LOL. This one was taken back in late December of 2009 so its fairly current and my appearance doesn't change much anyway.Hope your having a fine weekend my friend:)Cheers
Mark
Wow, your hair is much longer than I remember!!
It's so straight too, I'd love to have straight hair sometimes. Would make caring for it much easier on days when i couldn't really be bothered lol!!
thanks for your update too :)
Shawn
Actually, dying inevitably stops all hair growth. Dyeing isn't particularly good for your hair either. [wink]
Bill
Looking great there Shawn. Killer curl to the hair.
Shawn, Wonderful color and curl.
Fantastic thick texture!
Let it flow and grow!
peace, jonalbear
hey Shawn great update! great long curly hair you got now and it certaintly paid off for you as the look suits you well! thanks for saying my name in the list as you have great hair too my friend! :) can't wait to see future updates from you buddy :)
Really nice hair! It's one of the kinds I consider to be the best. I'm in now way saying you look like a girl, first of all, but it reminds me of a girl who was a neighbor & friend when I was 16, who had your type of hair all the way down her back. Yours'll just look better & better I think, cause the weight of hers made it just pleasantly wavy on top, yet full around her face, but at the bottom, espically after we'd go swimming in the lake we lived on, it would break into large ringlets, just like, ... Like Mythology. It's a more masculine than feminine hair type, I think, actually, due to it's thickness and weight. She was such an inspiration. She believed in doing as little as possible with it. I think she'd say don't brush it too much, it can cause split ends. So whenever I see a guy with hair like she had, I'm not only reminded of her of course, but I think, 'Oh good! That kind of hair should be grown out!'
Cool to hear from you again, your hair has grown quite a bit since then. Must be hard to manage such a wild mane!
A picture's worth a thousand words, your fantastic head of hair is worth a thousand pictures.
Looks great, Shawn!
