Hi there,
been a while since I posted but I decided to let you all know I'm still here and growing.
My hair's gone from about 40cm at my first and last update here last year at 30 months, to well into the 50's cm now at 40 months.
Took very similair type of pictures to see the difference and although the difference could of been more obvious I do seem to have made some progress.
I've experienced a lot of hair loss but it's probably just in my perception as the hairs keep getting longer and the collected losses increase. Still seems to be fine although I can notice the ends getting thinner, as I don't have a big full rich head of hair to begin with I don't think I have a very long terminal length but we'll see how far it goes without getting too thin or unhealthy.
I've had no trims since last update and I even have very few to no split ends. Not entirely sure why that is but I believe it has to do with being carefull with my hair when wet, no brushing and no blow drying. Also I simply don't brush often at all. I basically fingercoam to detangle a few times a week, and when I have to go somewhere fancy (never happens) I usually just plan my washing before it so my hair is fine by itself without brushing. I do have a brush but it will last me a long time.
Since last update I started to use conditioner and quite an eye opener that was.. Although the stuff is kinda icky my hair is much more manageable, far less tangles and I can go longer between washing. I tend to wash my hair two times a week now.
Ok well, keep it up all!
regards,
your hair looks fantastic
Great looking long hair indeed and so glad you are now using conditioner. You may well notice that the thinning length can be extended from now on for the newer hair growth and as a result even longer hair will be possible.
Justin~
Thanks!
From time to time I do read here and a while ago I came across your youtube clips on long hair and they are very usefull and inspirational.
..Also read about your salon disaster and wish you all the best regrowing if that's what you want to do. (hope you will!)
Looking at your mane, your hair stars off straight and it becomes curly near the ends. Did you know you can tug on a curl till it is straight and then let go, it goes boing? Try it out. It looks like we have similar hair, although mine is somewhat lighter and curlier. Your hair caring almost describes my hair caring, by the way.
Matthew
Boing indeed.
...thinks of a way to turn his shed hair into a deadly weapon
That's one SPECTACULAR head of hair you have there, very full and very healthy-looking, nice color & shine, too!!
As far as hair-shedding goes, it's been the same experience for all of us when we first grow out our manes: it seems more alarming to look at the shower drain; but in reality, it's just the added length that give the impression of more hair loss. If you have the time, go to the Link section and read Bill Choisser's "On Being A Longhair". In it he explains a lot about hair growth and shedding, as well as other helpful topics for longhairs.
Also, don't worry about the ends getting thinner at the bottom of where your hair length stops. That's very natural for that to happen. My own hair is currently at belt-length; but the ends are so thin down there that my guess is that I'm near or at terminal length. My hair also has seemed to be growing much slower -- another sign that I'm at or near terminal length.
You're lucky you don't have split ends (not everybody gets them, probably genetic; but also excellent hair care helps)...
Anyway, thanks for the inspiring update -- and definitely keep it growing!!!

Thanks!
Yeah the shedding is probably ok but increasingly scary none the less. Comming summer (my worst shedding) should have me have my hands in my hair as we say here in Holland.
I love your hair, the texture is very simmilair to mine.
Dank!
Net ook jou update gezien en gaat goed met flinke lengte voor zo'n korte tijd! Denk dat ik op m'n rug niet veel lager kom dan jij.
(for the paranoid, did not say anything about your mom in Dutch but told Vincent I've also seen his update and his great progress.)
Leuk nog een nederlander :)
Heb mijn haar nog nooit geknipt dus aan de achterkant is het erg lang ja!
Twistofchaos, Awesome hair! Let it flow and grow!
peace, jonalbear
Hi there,
Thanks for the update and you an amazing head of hair there and do keep it growing. To goal length of terminal.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi Twistedchaos,
Thank you for sharing your truly excellent update with us. as far as I can tell, you have excellent thickness, your hair looks healthy, and I think you still have at least a few more inches of growing. I know my hair grows slowly, and I keep thinking I have reached terminal length, but my hair surprise me and keeps growing.
Keep it growing,
David
Your hair looks great, I wouldn't worry about the hair loss it's most likely shedding and that's natural. There's always a small clump of hair in the drain after I shower so being in my early 40's I should be panic stricken but I'm not. If your hair loss accelerates and these update pics are a good way to compare then I would worry.
Take care
Kevin
dude i am diggin it that is some awesome hair thick to :P brilliant hair keep it going thanks - dave
