First of all I do want to tell everyone that their compliments, advice and support have been most appreciated on my journey in becoming a longhair. I probably would have never made it past the awkward stage if you guys hadn't urged me on. I have talked to some great poeple on here and made some friends as well. It has been quite an adventure so far and I feel it at times has only just begun.
I do feel at times a hypocrite in that my initial desire for long hair was for just a temporary life change to donate. Five years ago if someone would have told me when a grows his hair long it becomes as much a part of him as his hands, sight, voice, I would definitely have scoffed at that prospect. It is amazing what time does to change outlooks on subjects at hand.
However, now, I can't ever imagine myself having short hair again in that it HAS become a part of me. A part that I have grown to love very much. If I did in fact offend any veteran longhairs out there, I most humbly apologize.
Recent meetings with classmates from years ago, they all concur that it is an image that more suits me than who I used to be way back when. Difficult to explain, but I think I am more confident about who and what I am now than before and for that I am most greatful.
Thanks again for all listening to my ramblings. Long may your manes flow and may it mever lash your face like a whip with the wind. All have a great weekend.
Charlie
So many of us here could have said these words, but you said them so WELL.
Bill
Well said Bill and not a bad band from Germany either!
Thanks Bill and John appreciate the encouragement.
BEAUTIFULLY said, Charlie! (I agree completely with Bill's reply!!) I could say similarly re. my own experience of growing my mane out the first time, -- in fact, part of the big lesson I learned from impulsively cutting my waist-length hair short back in Y2K was how much I missed my long hair and regretted that stupid decision, once I suddenly had to face life without it long.
How could you ever "offend" any veteran longhairs??? If anything, whatever comments you've made in your posts I've always found to be INSPIRING to read, never offensive in the least!!
Too late for that, Charlie -- my hair regularly lashes my face like a whip in the wind... But hey, that's all a part of the fun!! After almost 10 years of growth now (since that devastating Y2K haircut I mentioned above), the wind whipping my hair across my face is actually a HAPPY reminder that it has all grown back again now (and THEN SOME - lol)!!
GREAT post, Charlie!!!!

Thanks Ken, for all the encouragement, couldn'tve done it without all of you.
