Hey everyone, I'm a bit of a shy guy here so you probably won't catch me posting much. Figured I'd say that I've been enjoying everyones tips along the way as they've been very useful.
My lifelong concern for growing my hair out was always the whole society rejecting me thing. But as time went on I found my own path and realized that society can go worry about itself, but didn't until recently realize what truly made me happy and to be complete, and that was to let my hair be natural, to be myself.
I forget the last haircut, but I consciously made the decision mid summer of 2009 to stop cutting my hair. here are some progression pics as big old hello and a show of progress for how I've managed the awkward stage :)
I'm only attaching one pic of my goofy mug on here, but for the progression pics you can check my mobileme gallery

Hi John,
Welcome to the hyperboard, so glad you found us, and I hope to see you posting more in the future. You have a great head of hair to work with, straight with a touch of wave, with good thickness too. You have come a long ways since last year, so keep up the good work.
Welcome aboard,
David
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. Its nice to know long hair on guys isn't just for the rocker crowd :)
Hi John and welcome.
Great progress so far and keep it growing.
Cheers,

hello John.. I see ur getting into it quite at a fast ace and thats good... many people will tell you not to worry..as they told me.. and so on.. they have gone tru what I am going tru and what you will.. it isnt easy if you let them boss you around. Im at 13 months.. right in the middle of the dung stage, but a good thing happens, after a while, when everyone realizes no mater how much they yap about ur hair and how pretty and a good boy u'd look with short hair, no matter how much they bother u, YOU WILL NOT cut your hair and the damn head is yours anyways to do whatever u please with it, they will shut up about it and not mention it anymore.. and then it will be ok. so have I felt tru my passage, Im not tru the dung stage, but Im tru the dung times where people try to give me advice i dont want nor asked for. so i want to say congrats to you, strap ur belt and prepare for an awesome ride, and dont be shy in giving the middlefinger bird to a couple of people who deserve it, I know i did and felt like a million dollars.. Peace and hope to hear from your progress... rick
