Yes it's here again...happy equinox...equiniox!
We look forward to new spring library of updated pictues!
Now I'm off to say hello to a stone!
Cheers,

Happy Equinox to you and give the stone my regards.
Indeed as spring inspires the flowers to grow we hope that a new crop of positive updates inspires many budding longhair.

And a Happy Equinox to you John. Time to celebrate but my car has a flat tire and I'll probably break my back fixing it. Earlier I fell out of bed. Last night I tripped over (on a stone)some green plants in the backyard, sprained mee leg and was walking around as if I were stoned myself. But it is happy time here today in the land of the green. :-) About time to start planting around here and I do hope we don't have many bugs to infest all of the lovely plants I have received from the grower.

Dancing with the Druids? Are we??
Hey, we've got one of those! Sans druids, but it's not missing any pieces! (It's an eerie, lonely, windswept place, high above the Columbia River, definitely worth checking out because it is really trippy.)
looks like there's a druid in there to me !!
That's cool but it doesn't have the same charm. Being that it's
in California I would expect it to be made of Polystyrene
Although that material too will last for thousands of years.
(grin)
Kevin
It's actually made of poured concrete. It was built right after WWI to honor the war dead of a county in Washington state where it is located. Back then, the connection between the original Stonehenge and the sun were not known, and this replica was built 4 degrees rotated since its orientation at the time did not seem to matter. Also, it was built in the Columbia River Gorge, where sunrise on June 20 occurs behind substantial higher terrain. You can check out its location by going to Maryhill, Wa with Google Maps.

It's that amazing another one near the other median of time. I'll have to have a word with the druids and see if we can move our one to Greenwich before solstice...solstice!
It would certainly be quieter at the observatory. The most shocking thing about your Stonehenge to me was that it was at the intersection of two busy highways with constant noisy truck traffic, and definitely not a place to meditate. What I had always read had led me to believe we'd find it on a quiet, lonely plain.
The Stonehenge in Washington State was in a lonely windswept place, having more of the feel I expected when visiting yours. You could see the interstate highway down below and across the river, but it was far enough away you didn't hear it much.
We have lots of duplicates of stuff here. There is the Parthenon in Nashville and the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas. And we mustn't forget the replica of Anaheim's Disneyland in Orlando. That last one was so identical that we were talking about "doing that ride the last time" and also while in Orlando we never got lost. Yet, we had never been there before!
