Hi George,
Thank you SO much for your kind words in your reply to my "Cultivating Your Inner Longhair" thread (which is now waaay down the page by now....), -- I really appreciate it!
As I understand it, MLHH does save everything in the Archives section (after the bottom of the page gets its occasional "haircut" by the end getting trimmed off). I wish I was more computer-savvy, I'd take you up on some of your suggestions you mentioned; but things are the way they are, I guess -- I enjoy writing; but getting me past computer-stupidity is like pulling teeth at the dentist's office (just ask anyone who's ever tried to help me out w/ this - LOL)!!
Also, re. your comment about Bill Choisser's "On Being A Longhair", Bill occasionally posts here, simply using the handle, "Bill" (scroll down to Mikhail's thread to see a couple of recent replies he made). I had the privilege of having him help me design and install my web site -- which you can look at simply by clicking on my little avatar pic (it will take you right to my Hair page and "welcome to my web site" stuff. Other than recently upgrading / updating my Virtual Garden page (thanks to Bill!), the Hair and Dance pages are the same as when first installed in '04 (my hair is considerably longer nowadays than in those pics, for example)...
My apologies for my silliness and strange humor on my website's Hair pages; but, although here on the board I enjoy writing about more serious topics of discussion, in real life I enjoy being more of a goof-ball...
It also might help you to know that I happen to have a Master's degree in Procrastination, as well as am working on my doctorate thesis on "Sloth and How to Succeed at Maximum Waste of Time" -- which is not an easy thing at becoming a world-class "expert" in; but it's the one thing I can indeed be proud of "accomplishing" in my lifetime...
I hope that long-winded answer explains a little bit more about me -- and why it is unlikely that I will ever venture beyond writing here at MLHH!
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken
Hey Ken -
Well, I'm probably making too much of this. Even Bill isn't anxious for feedback on his excellent essay. I guess I'm thinking if I wrote stuff that was as impactful as your and his essays I would want the maximum number of people exposed to it and I would want feedback so I could evolve and refine it. That said, I can't imagine how Bill's essay could be added to or refined further. It appears to be the culmination of many years of experience and deep consideration. I wish I could write like that.
It is not an exaggeration to say that this site and Bill's essay have profoundly changed my life. I was on the verge of not only cutting my hair but abandoning my path toward a deeper confidence in favor folding back into the mainstream and effectively losing much of my identity. MLHH, you, and Bill have, at just exactly the right time, shown me a different way to look at myself and my goals. I feel lifted and strengthened. At 57 this doesn't happen as often as it used to.
So let's leave it at heartfelt thanks, and keep doing it! I know I'm not the only one looking earnestly for this type of advice.
Oh - and you are hilarious! Your site made me laugh out loud. Shoulda figured you were a gardening type.

Hey George,
Thanks again for the wonderful compliments (and I'm sure Bill will feel the same way, once he reads your comments, too). I agree w/ you that evolution and refinement are always an on-going thing. That said, for those of us like myself that are completely computer-stupid, it takes time & $$ to keep up with all the self-improvements and refinements (LOL)!!
At 56, I can totally relate to that comment!
Hey, you are very welcome!
Yep, there's something about getting "down & dirty" (in this case, I mean it LITERALLY - lol) that helps keep my outlook on life on the warped and wiggly (as opposed to the "straight & narrow" - LOL)....
Thanks again, George -- and so glad you found us here at MLHH!!!
