I play basketball a lot and my hair is now long enough that it gets in my face even with a head band on. what can i do? its a few inches longer than shoulder length and really heavy hair. Ponytails always seem to come loose really fast, so? thanks for the help
I remember seeing a guy playing basketball with a Bandanna on.
Have you tried that?
Kevin
You could always try a plait or a segemented tail/half tail. That's what I did for sports when my hair was that length.
I think ponytails should suffice, try wrapping the pony tie around more times (or if the difference between x and x+1 wraps is too tight then try a different size ponytail). A lot of my moms ponytails won't stay on me through sleep, and if they do they hurt my scalp because they are so tight; but I have this one size that is just right.
Good luck
I use Goody "Stay Put" hair ties. They stay in place quite well.
As you might know, Sikh men don't ever cut their hair. When not wearing a turban, such as while playing sports, young Sikhs wear a thing called a Patka. I don't know much about it, but it looks lightweight and flexible, and if it can contain the waist-length hair of a Sikh, it'll probably handle yours. Try googling "patka" and look at the pictures.
Bandana, half-tail, ball cap, beanie. Me and my friends use those when we need to, can't think of anything else.
Hope I helped,
Jarvis
Look at a bike or hiking store for something called a BUFF. I've got one and it's fabulous. Keeps your hair under control, stuffs into a pocket when you're not using it - can't say enough about it...
