i swear i think my hair stoped growing, its been like the same length for 2 months, i havent noticed any split ends or anything in my hair. What is up with it. Also i seem to be loosing hair every once in awile, im 17, can hair loss start at this age. My hair curently covers my ears and my bangs are a bit past my nose and itchy. i thought by now i would be able to tail it, i havent had it cutt since the first day of school started wich was like in late august last year. Whats the deal with my hair. Its a real pain in the ass since its on my forhead and its hot and i cant tail it and gel dont keep my bangs held up for long, it last for about a hour. At these times i wish my hair would afro up instead of laying down as it is. Its so straight and thick its not even funny. Any suggestions are appreation
I know how you feel. Im at about 8 months and it seems to have just stopped where it is. I think it has something to do with how thick the hair is, its definatly slowed, but it cant have stopped.
This reminds me of the phrase "a watched pot never boils." In other words, you're too focused on how much your hair is growing. It grows too slow to be able to tell the difference if you check too often. I do the same thing sometimes.

Unless you have a bald spot, you can be pretty sure what you have is normal hair shedding. It's a pain, but it's normal as hair starts to get long. New hair will grow in its place. Just from my experience, it seems that people with thick hair are able to grow it very long so I think genetics are on your side.

Maybe putting your hair into lots of small braids would bring temporary relief. If you don't know how to braid, have someone teach you, it's not hard to learn. I don't know if it's damaging to hair, but they make some kind of dreadlock creme that can be washed out easily. Maybe someone else knows more about it.
This happened to me before the first time I was growing it out. I thought it stopped growing, but after some time later, I began to notice it grow longer than before. I guess there's a stage where it seems to have stopped, but it hasn't. It'll probably be another couple of months before you notice it's growth.
It also takes a lot longer to put it back in a tail. After 15 months, I cold get the back and sides in a tail but not the bangs.
