Hello everyone. I've been lurking on these boards for about a month now, so I've decided it's time to start posting. The picture here is from two months ago.
I think a short introduction would be appropriate. My name is Sam, I am 16 years old, and I have been growing my hair out for about 20 months now. My dad has pretty long hair (a bit past mid-back), so I didn't really receive much opposition from my parents when I told them I wanted to grow it out. My mom said I could grow it out as long as I took care of it. She also said that I needed to get it trimmed regularly, but that never happened.
Here is what my hair looked like about a month after I got my last haircut:

Welcome to the MLHH Sam! It's nice to see a fellow teenager on here.
You have a wicked head of hair. Reminds me of my own actually.
I would avoid the trims as much as possible, it will only take your hair longer to grow, but that doesn't seem to be a problem for you.
Your hair has come a long way since your last haircut. Do you have a specific goal length?
Luke.
Thanks for the reply. I looked at your 16 month update in the archive. You do have some awesome hair.
My goal is belt-length. If I can grow it longer than that, then I will go from there, but I would be satisfied with belt-length. I do hope to reach the 24 inch mark by my senior year, though. I'll have to avoid the barber at all costs to reach that goal.
Welcome, Sam. I'm 16 too, turning 17 in July. I hit my 3 years back in Feb (see archives). Its awesome to see more teens on here growing out their hair.
Judging by what you have now, you probably won't hit 2 feet by senior year (assuming you're a junior), but it shouldn't be long after that.

Welcome Sam, I think you've got it growin' quite well. Looks really good.
(Good intro btw)
