This should make the trimmers feel good, they can save the American gulf coast one hair at a time. I don't know about the guy who sheared it all off (a little over the top) but if it makes you feel good then donate it to the oil clean up effort.
I can imagine the gulf coast covered in frizzy hair. LOL

to do this. Every longhair should save his shed strands in a box or bag. This would eliminate the need for cutting off a long mane in the name of cleaning the environment. I have heard a lot of back and forth in the media as to whether mats of hair will work well in this situation. Some say yes, some say no. Maybe it is a conspiracy to get longhairs to shed their long locks.
If we converted our vehicles to run on thorium, oil spills would end for good. 10,000 KWH of energy is extractable from one gram of thorium, enough to go 40,000 miles in a small car. Thorium is nearly as abundant as lead.
Oh, I almost forgot, the oil companies will block it to avoid going broke.

I did not know this. Scot you are a gold mine of information!
(or maybe a Thorium mine!)

Thorium is the safest radioactive element. You can hold a piece of it in your hand. The radiation that it emits can't penetrate skin. It is much more abundant than uranium and will be the nuclear fuel of the future.

Hey Absalom, I looked around on the internet but couldn't find hardly any information on how thorium could be used as a fuel source for a car. Except for one car which apparently would not require any maintanence for 100 years, the funny thing is its a Cadillac. So if you could enlighten me (with a web link or a direct explanation) for how the Thorium fuels the car I would appreciate it. From what I read about that car the energy from the Thorium seems passive, always flowing, so when you park it you can use it to power your house/give electricity back to the grid for money.
Do you really want a fission reactor in your car? Thorium can be used in a reactor but it's converted into U233 which is the fissionable isotope. Other elements such as U235 are needed to start the reaction. http://www.ask.com/wiki/Thorium_fuel_cycle

That box of hair is friggin' awesome. And quite a bit scary too... the RIP makes me feel sad for the poor strands.

I am a bit saddened too. I wish that I shed less, which would mean thicker hair for me.

Will it make my car glow in the dark?
Does it make you pedal faster!
Thank you for the info about Thorium!!!!!! That was very encouraging!!!!! - ( because I LOOOVE DRIVING!!!!!) :D
I work at a Petco myself and were donating all the trimmed dog hair for the oil slick lol.
How desperate!

I can just see Locks Of Love (LOL) rebranding themselves as Locks Of Oil Leaks (LOOL)

Hair is a commodity that makes millions/billions every year - and the guy (clever as he is) who discovered this oil slick scenario is a millionaire now.. and then there's the Hindu temples in India who make millions off long hair 'donated' by mostly women who are literally forced to 'donate' knee length hair to save their family home .. it's a commodity and it all gets re-sold back to the 'west' in shops as 23/26 inch extentions etc.. for a price
