Hello everyone!
I'm Gilles and I'm from Belgium :)
Last year, in december, I got my hair cut for the last time!
Since then, I've just let it be. But now I'm entering the 'awkward phase'. So I would appreciated if you guys could give me some advice on how to deal with my hair during this phase. I realise there are plenty of threads like this one, but since everyone has a different type of hair, I started my own. Below are a few pictures I took (I hope the uploading worked). It's something a tried for the first time today, and I an honest opinion would be appreciated :)
I basically just washed my hair, pulled it back and let it dry in that position. When it was dry it just fell in this style, and I used a but of sculpting wax to keep it here :)

It's gorgeous! ;p The awkward stage is very frustrating, and you should do anything and everything to get through it. If your hair bothers you, you consider cutting it, so make sure it doesn't bother you too much. Keep your mind on one year from now. You just have to hold tight till then. It won't always look good to you, but just get through to next summer - even if you have to do things with it that don't look especially nice. It doesn't matter that much, it's only transitory.
The awkward stage is the most critical.
It looked very good in your pictures. The back was really cool!
It actually looks good in this style. The slightly wayward look is very fashionable. If you can live with it then do nothing and enjoy.
Your off to a great start and keep it growing.

Now that is a good looking awkward stage. It'll only get better from now on, so stay at it!

Nics Gilles!
My advice is to relax and enjoy your hair. Relish the way it now gets in the way, tickles your nose, cheaks, neck.
Don't restrain it or refrain it, let it fly free in the wind!
(boy, I'm getting silly when I'm tired)
