Well, I did it -- wore my hair in a ponytail to work today for the very first time. The earth didn't shake and the sky didn't fall. In fact, i got a lot of nice compliments. The only sour remark came from a cop in the elevator when he snarled "cut your hair" -- then he burst into a big smile and said, "just kidding!"
Well that's great news indeed. I'm sure Chicken licken will be very pleased as well :-)
That is pretty cool, too often we hear about work discrimination based at least in part on long hair.
Good for you!
I remember the first time I tailed my hair, It felt odd not just having my loose and free hair (it was a lot shorter).
Now I rarely go anywhere without my hair in a braid or ponytail and having it loose, while liberating, now feels odd.

Yes, wearing a ponytail for the first time, one usually expects comments from almost anyone - from coworkers to random people on the street. It seems so strange that almost no one pays attention to it at all. At least, this is how it was for me.
But they do pay attention when you come with your hair loose again after tying it in a ponytail for a few months.

Hey I went though a notion of time where it seemed "less freaky" ,, "more professional" .. to wear a pony tail. Sorry I missed what looks an ongoing thread if thats off.
What made me abandon the pony tail was having to shave my neck. Mostly my impression is letting it all hang out looks great and honestly gets the same response from people.
Now if the pony is for comfort, ride on bro ...
