Well I just arrived home from my west coast vacation and it has been a great week.Visited the SF bay area which was highlighted by a meet up of some great members of this board.I'm sure you will recognize the faces in this group. Some I've met before except for Scott and Walter who I met for the very first time.We had a great lunch down in Pescadero then traveled north to the coastal town of Half Moon Bay.Spent some time chatting and taking some pictures to document the event. From there I traveled north where I was given an insiders tour of the city of San Francisco. My tour guide Ken was a fountain of knowledge showing me that fabulous city. It's a day I will never forget. The awesome thing about the mlhh is that its more than internet postings, its also about making real friends:)Something that has to be rare for internet message boards.Finding the mlhh to me was like hitting the jackpot!I'd like to thank all our users past and present who have kept this board alive.I noticed, by a quick scan, many awesome updates just below and what fabulous hair I see.Great going guys.Anyway here are a couple pics of the guys from our event.Have a great weekend all.
Mark
Here's another shot with the guys juggled around:)
Before the meet up I stopped at Pigeon Point Lighthouse and some how missed Walter who was there around the same time I was.Go figure.
On a different day I was in San Francisco at Pier 39 and met this cool surfer dude.He didn't seem to mind that I took a picture with him but when I complimented his beautiful hair and even offered to buy him lunch he never said a word.Maybe he was shocked that someone complimented his hair!LOL.
hey Mark, what a great photo of you guys! Looks like you had a blast out in the old west of which im heading out to this summer in July myself! :)
Hi Mark,
It was a blast to meet so many of the guys at once.Hopefully when you head out west you'll be able to arrange a meet up as well.I certainly remember that awesome pic of you when visiting our own Paul KMF.You certainly got a taste of a real life meet up then.It would be cool to catch up with you sometime especially if you make your way to the NYC area.Have a great weekend buddy:)Cheers
Mark
Awesome meetup, I would love to meet you guys when I'm on vacation in the area. Don't know when but it will happen at some point in my life.
Seems like you had a great time together, like you say this board is different than a lot of other boards at the internet.
Hey Vincent,
Well if you ever visit the US I'd love to meet you if you happen to be in the area.I have yet to meet any of our overseas members as that would be cool to have happen. The mlhh certainly is a special place in my opinion.Hope all is well with you my friend:)Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark,
What an awesome set of photos, and how cool that you got to meet up with such a great group of guys! I remember how much a pleasure it was meeting you just under a year ago, and hope we can do it again in the not too distant future.
One of these days, I hope to make that trip to the west coast of the USA!
Take care, and enjoy the rest of your vacation!
David
Hi David,
It was awesome to meet so many of the guys on that one trip.It was exciting that Walter happened to be on the road the same week I was out west too as originally I didn't expect to see him.I certainly remember our meet up, like you mentioned, as it was an honor to see you then:)I'm certainly building a long list of in person meet ups which I hope continues. Thanks for being a part of our group here as I really enjoy your input.Have a great weekend.

"...is that its more than internet postings, its also about making real friends:)Something that has to be rare for internet message boards.Finding the mlhh to me was like hitting the jackpot!I'd like to thank all our users past and present who have kept this board alive..."
Well said, Mark and I second that !!
Our meetup was fantastic except the time went by much too fast. I will have some "interesting" photos and comments when I catch up.....still headed north.
Taking the ferry over to Vancouver Island in the morning and will be in Canada for a while.
Walter
Wow!Cool picture Walter.Who is that unmasked man??LOL.Well I have to feel honored wearing the official "White Tail"hat.I'm so glad to have been able to catch up with you on your west coast excursion. So your all the way up in Canada now.Your trip has to been awesome with all that you saw.Sure wish I was still on vacation as the grind resumes tomorrow.Looking forward to all you adventure pics when you are ready my friend.Catch you later.
Mark
How wonderful for all and such a happy bunch! And at Duarts of all places. :-)
There is another great place to meet-up in Santa Cruz (for the future?) way out on the Warf Boardwalk which I thought so remarkable as it is built right out in the ocean! (Back in the 90's when I used to make trips down to CA. to visit my friend Steven Lundberg the famous Glassblower known world wide we would sometimes eat out there.) Ha Ha Ha........you should have seen me trying to blow glass. To this day I am all blown-out! LOL
Bet that town has changed little since I was last there. Like stepping back in time to about 1935.
Justin~
ps: Were the Pumpkins growing right down next to the ocean? This always amazed me.
Hi Justin,
Yes,Duart's was awesome as usual and you couldn't leave without having a piece of the olalliberry pie:)Santa Cruz sounds like another nice alternative for some future meetup.Of course California is full of great places to meet.I'll have to keep that glassblower in mind for my next trip as I'd like to see some of his work.Hope you had a great weekend up north of the CA border my friend:)
Mark
Hey Mark-
Great weekend? LOL Was on my way to the beach today and had a flat tire. :-0 (Thought I would pass Walter perhaps if he just happened to be swinging by through the Town of Cannon Beach or Seaside.......or even Astoria.) Walter, you are just so amazing and how you get so quickly to places boggles my mind.......that is, what is presently left of it. I love that area up in Vancouver and have made that trip a number of times in the past. In fact, wish there was a way I could live there or on one of the San Juan Islands such as Friday Harbour.
Alas Mark, my friend Steven is now deceased, but another Lundberg Studio may still be in operation in the town of Davenport which would be, oh say, 20 minutes south of Pescadero. I used to stay in a beautiful cottage only several miles from there in the middle of a Redwoods Forest. Don't think I will EVER forget those "Banana Slugs" that are there. Wow........as long as snakes and NOTHING to what we have here in Oregon which can be big enough.
Glad you had a nice trip Mark. Hmmmmmmmm.......perhaps you should move out to where all the excitement is? Then, many more meet-ups! :-)
Take care-
Justin~
"""""""""""""""""""0"""""""""""""""""
Hey Justin, well if the work situation begins to improve that move just
may happen.Right now things in my line of work are very slow I am told.
Hopefully it will improve sooner than later.Other than that it would be great
to be in regular contact with the guys by being out west:)
Mark
Looks like a fun time had by all.
Kevin
Sure was Kevin.MLHH meetups are the best.Hope to attend more in the future:)
Mark
What a nice meetup you all had!
Looks like great fun.
- Oren
Yes Oren, I do like meeting up with the guys whenever possible. This was a nice haul for a single visit:)Cheers
Mark
Hey Mark,
Other than the weird guy wearing shorts and a green shirt with his black hoodie tied around his waist (IF YOU CAN EVEN FIND HIS "WAIST"), that group of guys is hands-down AWESOME!!!
What a fun meet-up! Besides the honor and pleasure of meeting Walter for my first time, it was great to get a another opportunity to spend more time with you this visit.
OK, now that you've had my "Introductory SF Tour", what Bay Area sights do you want to see the next time you come back out West? My apologies to you that both Disneyland and Hollywood are NOT part of Northern California -- you have to go a bit further South in order to see those particular attractions (LOL)....
Also, I'm so sorry I was unable to fulfill your request of introducing you to some nice Hula girls. In this case, you not only forgot that you were too far North in the state of California; but you even got mixed up with the wrong state altogether -- that's HAWAII you were dreaming about!
Oh, well. These tourists from New Jersey still have a lot to learn about our "city by the Bay", I guess... [wink!]
Take care, Mark -- and again, all kidding aside, it was great to see you & spend some time w/ you again... Please come back out here and visit us again SOON!
- Ken
Hi Ken,
It was great having our meetup of all the guys just over one week ago.Man does time fly by!Can't believe I'm sitting here right now typing this just before having to head out to work today.TGIF!LOL.
The tour you gave me of SF was awesome being I saw so much in such a short period of time.It was fun at the end taking to the streets and finding that cool burger shop for our late dinner.Next time I make it out your way it would be fun to walk around more like that.I tend to do a lot of walking when I make my trips into NYC as you see so much more than going underground to ride the subways.I'll keep you posted when I plan my next trip back west.I'm sure it will be sometime later this year. You guys have such a cool state as it is so different than the east coast as you know being you used to live out here.
The whole day was just a blast from Duart's all the way to SF.Thanks to all the guys who attended making for such a good time.Anyway we'll keep in touch even before I head back your way. Thanks for all your hospitality Ken...much appreciated:)See ya soon my friend.
Mark
