Anyone here fond of braids. I'm getting really good at the 3 stranded ones regular braids and the braided ponytail, I would like to expand that into french braids and more than 3 stranded varieites. Anyone else have this interst

I only do my hair in a braid on rare occasions. It is difficult for me to get the waves out after taking the braid down. Just too much work for me. It is much easier to just use multiple hair ties, for me 9 or 10 of them.

I wear mine in a braided pony tail a lot these days. It eliminates tangles, and make my hair more care free. Click on my avatar.
I don't know about the "fondness" part, but I braid both my beard and hair for work. The beard I do into two braids and then tie them behind my neck to keep them from falling into the machines and wood glue. Since I stand in front of one of those industrial strength fans at work (it gets HOT on the factory floor in Florida) the braids keep everything tangle free. I've even braided the three groups of braids together into one big braid but the lengths don't work out too well, so I do it once in a while to put a smile on my other half's face. I was going to attach a picture of that, but the camera battery needs recharging.
I usually wear a three-strander, but I'll occasionally do a four-strander for variety if I have time. I've worn a French braid in the past, but my hair's actually getting too long to allow me to do one comfortably now.
I've experimented with herringbone and Legolas braids, but, to be honest, they take too long to do and are a hassle to take out again.
One of these days, I plan to try a five-strander, but I think that's easier if you can see what you're doing. It's difficult enough to get the tension right with a four-strander, so we'll see...
I've also tried a four-strander with a double twist, but that didn't work out - took ages to get the tangles out too! I think that's another one that's easier if you can see what you're doing or can at least visualise what's happening.

I quite like putting my hair into a braid. I usually use a 2 strand rope braid that is fast and easy to do by myself. When I can talk her into it and we are going to a formal event, I try to get my wife to tie it up with a 4 strand braid which I discovered in my copy of Ashley's book of knots.
