See the pic. (Normally I have sideburns down to my earlobe, shaved a little too much this weekend =(
To the question:
Under the red line, i have this triangular area that i've been trimming for the last 1,5 year. The rest of my hair is shoulder length.
I started to trim because: I wear glasses and this was the piece I couldn't poke back my ear with my frames. One inch of hair was standing right out from my ears almost =P so I trimmed is and ive been keeping it like this since then.
Big question;:
Should i keep on trimming it or try to grow it out??
I know I asked almost the same thing for about 3 months ago but I've forgot what you guys answered =) Sorry =P
Thanks again!!
Take care!

Actually, from what I can gather by thoroughly observing my own sideburns in the mirror which I have not cut, it would appear that you have it cut right where the short hair rather than longer hair begins, so you have it perfect!
I grew out al my hair the part under the red line included but I discovered it wouldn't grow long enough to fit in my tail. So I always had hair sticking out. I cut it to a lenght of 3 cm so it stay behind my ears but doesn't stick out.
When I wear my glasses it does come lose, but I only wear my glasses for driving so that is no big deal.
Your solutions works fine to, but be sure not to cut of to high.
I would suggest that you keep on trimming and indeed shave up to the red line.
Wearing glasses does create a problem in that the leg of the frame passing through a sideburn and the other hair can look untidy - the solution you have started with works well.
Personally, I trim that section and also a bit about half an inch wide round behind my ears, because it never gets longer than a couple of inches and sticks straight out. That's fine if my hair's loose as the rest of it keeps it down, but I wear my hair back most of the time, so it looks untidy if I leave it.
