I am always fascinated to see how hair behaves in space. Below is a picture of Tracy Caldwell Dyson, currently serving aboard the International Space Station. Below that is a picture of her in normal gravity.
Thanks for sharing, Pat. That "puffball" behind her head seems like a nightmare set of tangles waiting to happen, but maybe not with no gravity.
Just out of curiosity, did you notice the "Speed Limit" sign posted on the bulkhead?? Astronaut humor... gotta love it!! :D

She's been up there for 3 months, so you'd think she would have done something else with it if it was a problem. Another long haired astronaut, Tammy Jernigan (now retired from space), used to wear her hair in multiple hair ties, as seen in the not-so-good picture below.
What I envision are long shed strands floating through the air. They would follow air currents, which probably would send them into astronauts' noses. Would that be better, or worse, than having them fall into your food, which is what happens on the ground? (Maybe better, because noses are accustomed to having hair in them?)

Well I bet "guy" longhair doesn't do that and probably lays nice on his back. But I guess we'll never know as you'll see a longhaired male astronaut when HELL freezes over!LOL.

The Aliens who brought me there on vacation were nice enough to allow me this photo which shows my hair in a Martian Salon on Mars! LOL
Justin~
Yes interesting pictures Pat. Of course if you have a few million to spare you go as a spare tourist!
In case you're wondering what the three are doing in the picture... They're watching TV! They're watching the launch of a Soyuz with another three astronauts/cosmonauts who will join them soon. The station normally has 6 people on board, and they rotate three of them every three months.
