How long is your hair?
The ends reach to the end of my belt.
How long have you been growing your hair?
November of this year will mark 7 years.
What is my profession?
I work as a bike Messenger in Manhattan, but lately have been working at a florist part time for my Messenger Company's Client.
I've been a walking messenger for nearly 4 years until up and switched to the bike. Beats taking the subway 20 times a day.
Are there a lot of longhairs in NYC?
While they are not a majority in the city they certainly are not a rare sight at all especially among ehtnic minorities.
Are longhairs accepted in NYC?
Most city residents do not care about the length of one's hair and even if they do you are not suppose to care because you are too busy for haters.
I believe that is all ask me anymore questions please.
Thanks for the Kenneth FAQ :-)

You have excellent hair, with good length, Kenneth. Looking good.

Hi Kenneth,
I go to NYC occasionally so I will keep a lookout for that longhaired dude riding a bike with his mane flowing in the breeze behind him.LOL.I also agree there are a respectable amount of longhaired guys that I see in my travels up and down the city streets. No majority but still a decent amount. It would be cool to meet you sometime in the future as I live fairly close to Manhattan.I'll be heading into the city in early July to meet a former mlhher who is visiting from the west coast.Anyway thanks for you update as I'm glad you are still around ...you and your hair:)Cheers my friend.

Good to hear you're still growing, Kenneth! I was in NYC a few weeks ago on a bike trip, using a company called bikethebigapple.com. It was a 7-hour ride thru Lower Manhattan and throughout Brooklyn, crossing the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges. I went up there with my best friend and my godson and was amazed at how easy it was to get around in the city on a bike. Totally awesome! I'm sure your job requires riding in areas that were more dangerous than where we rode, but still it's pretty cool. NYC has really got it together when it comes to bike lanes and trails, IMHO!!!
My question to you is do you tie your hair back and, if so, do you use multiple ties or just have one long ponytail? Or do you just let your "freak flag fly?"
Take care and stay safe!!!

Growing my hair out again!
Well georgiaboy and urban cowboy. All areas of Manhattan can be dangerous for cyclists one wrong move and I could be dead. Many city avenues and streets have gotten better and installed bike lanes on the left or right side of the street. But sometimes you still have to get into traffic if a cab or other idiot parks in the bike lane therefor blocking it.
As for my hair, my preference is dependent on the weather. During a hot summer day such as yesterday I wore it in a ponytail with 1 holder, sometimes I wear it up in a bun, and on occasion wear it loose but not for long.
NYC is a green city without really even trying it is so great. By necessity people share heat in their apartments, ride the trains in unheard of numbers elsewhere in the US. Sure some city residents drive, but most do not drive all the time, opting to leave their car and take the train or a taxi.
Hi Kenneth,
So great to hear from you again!!
My hair is the same length as yours -- only mine took me 3 years more to grow that far (I guess my mane is a slllo-o-o-o-oww grower)..
Nice update, my friend! The only question I can think of right now is the same one as Georgia boy said...
Long Lox 4ever,

What is it like to be a bike courier, and do you work through the winter as well as the other 3 seasons? What kind of a bike do you have?
