Okay, So I have three very long peaks of growing hair down my neck, on the left, center and right side of my neck. The peaks come almost down to the bottom of my neck. Funny thing is that though my hair is pretty straight my neck hairs are curled.
I had hoped to grow them out long with the rest of my hair but they do not seem to be growing much past 2 inches.
They do not seem at least to me to look good very well when I am wearing a pony tail. And I wonder at times if they are pushing my head hair outward and not allowing my hair to drop freely. But at the very least the curls down the neck with the ponytail is just weird.
So do any of you have a similar problem? What do you do?
For the rest of you, What do you recommend? Leave the hairs or shave them off?
Mikhael
The bottom inch of my hair is scraggly baby hair. If I wear my hair up, it looks like Darth Vader without his helmet. I've considered shaving off that bottom inch just to clean it up, but I've never taken the plunge.
I think neck hair is almost always curly, and in never seems to grow very long.
The danger in shaving it off is that you might end up catching some of your head hair by mistake. It's not an easy place to get at.
I leave mine to grow - I've become used to it. I don't think it affects a ponytail because the ponytail is heavier than the neck hair.
I always wear a low ponytail, so most of the hairs (although shorter then the rest of my hair) do fit in the tail.
I shave of the rest that does not fit in, but not very often. Last time was a few months ago so it is quite long now.
There will some that say ignore it - so the choice is yours - but I would recommend shaving it regularly. Whilst you need to be slightly careful not to encroach above the hair line, it will look far better.
I just take it off, like UK said. Neck hair is different from head hair anyway, so it's not like it will be an undercut or anything. For me, it just looks and feels a lot cleaner. Personal choice man, but hey, sounds like you're obviously not satisfied with it anyway, so why not try it out. If you decide that you like the wolf-man patches after all, it'll grow back and you'll be looking as Teenwolf as you did before in no time haha. -Jason K
Hi Mikhael,
I've known a lot of guys that prefer keeping that neck area short, or even shaved, as well as one time I went to a hair stylist years ago to have the hair in that area cut short; but then I decided to never repeat that habit -- so nowadays I just leave it alone...
Up to you, though!
My best to you, whatever you decide to do!!

I get my other half to clipper it off every now and then.
I'm sorry I dont get it (I'm female) if its comfy why not just leave it alone(?) and stop worrying about looks.. mibbe some people like the 'teenwolf' .. 'wolf'.. etc look
I dunno why you guys worry so much.. tbh :)
I have thought about shaving my neck hairs off, but it seems too difficult, so I just leave it! Someone pointed out that they show less with a lower ponytail. It's also true that if you put your hair in a braid and don't tie it back before you braid it that shows even less of your neck hairs. I sometimes do that.
