Here's what I did for my bachelor party day:
It was FANTASTIC! I'll never forget that feeling of first falling out of the airplane. What a rush! Has anyone else here gone skydiving? I had to do a tandem. It must be even better to go alone!
Wow, that's awesome Jason as that had to be the ultimate rush!I never dove from a plane but the free fall must be some feeling.Sometimes I think I'd like to learn to pilot a small aircraft but imagine it's an expensive hobby. What hobbies aren't!LOL.Thanks for posting about your airborne adventure:)Cheers
Mark
The freefall was amazing. It really felt like flying rather than falling.
Wow Jason and fantastic that you can do that. It must truly be an amazing feeling! Most unique Bachelor Party I have ever heard of. FUN!
Now let's see. Perhaps I can work my way up to your achievement. Will start today by practicing jumping off the rim of my sandbox. LOL :-)
Take care and thank you for posting this.
Justin~
One of my groomsmen came up with the idea and I immediately thought it would be great and unique like you said. Well, start small Justin and work your way up!
Hey Jason Congrats! on the skydive. Yes I do go skydiving, I did my first jumps early last year and I am actually going again next weekend. I am working on getting my license right now. I may not get all the jumps in I need before the end of the year but I am logging my classes and jumps, and your right, very cool to jump out. How high did you jump from? I jump from about 13000 ft. I am heading out now but I will attach a couple pics tomorrow. Glad you had a great time! Take care and cngrats on the marriage too. Later! longhairedone Steve
That's great Steve! I'm not sure if I want to proceed to get my license but I'm thinking about it. I have a friend at the place who arranged for us to jump from 13000 feet instead of the usual 10500 so we got extra freefall time!
Hey Jason, here are two photos of my first jump. Everybody else had these really cool bright suits to wear but they gave me the military look LOL I have had bright ones the last couple jumps and not at goofy a looking helmet. This jumnp was from 13000, and I can go up to 18000 if I want to. The license lart takes classes that are at mininum 5 hours before jumping and perfroming what you were supposed to learn in class. The place I go is like a Jump Club, they do 10,000 jumps a year and also go parties adn charity things which is cool. I am going next saturday and let you know how it all goes. I should have gone this weekend, the weather was great! Hope you like to photos and maybe sometime we can have a longhair jump in LOL Take care Jason and congrats again! longhairedone Steve
Here is the second photo of the first jump, and yes 13000 ft is high! LOL
Glad you had a good bachelor party.
I only did about 7 jumps, in my progression I got to where I was
jumping from 6,000 feet. never did a tandem from 10,000.
I agree it's a rush and the thing I most remember was after the
chute opened and I was gliding around was the quiet, just the
wind blowing past nothing else. Amazing stuff and I so want to
do it again sometime.
Kevin
I think you'd love the tandem from the higher altitude. I did enjoy the parachuting part but it was kind of windy and I felt a bit queasy as we twirled around.
Hi Jason,
Oh, yes, I thought it was so cool when you told me (while at the rehearsal dinner) about your skydiving adventures. I could never be so brave, and I am glad that you shared this photo.
David
Who knows, maybe someday you'll get the urge to enjoy flight outside of an airplane!!
So, was jumping off into the abyss somehow symbolic of your jumping out of bachelorhood ?? Ha!
Congratulations ! ...on both "Leaps of Faith"
Thanks Walter. Yeah, maybe there was some symbolism in it!
Has anyone else here gone skydiving?
I've thought about it, but have never quite been able to talk myself into jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.
I used to rake flying lessons, aeons ago, but I've never understood why anyone would want to jump out of a perfectly good plane, LOL!
Nice!!
A big leap forward and a happy landing into a new chapter in your life.
Time does indeed "fly" when having that much fun!
