Wacken 2010...still the best summer holiday going :-)
That's awesome John! Those are great pictures and it looks like you guys had a blast. I definitely want to get to a couple heavy metal festivals sometime during my life, I'm sure there's no shortage of longhairs LOL!
Stay metal man!
Luke.
Sweet dude, I always wanted to go to Wacken.
Picture looks great. Care to give some details on the performances? I went back in 2007 and it was an awesome experience.
Great pic! It looks like a blast. Maybe someday I'll get to attend!
Hi John,
How cool that you got to attend tis festival together, a place of great beer, food and company!
Cheers,
David
Ha! I´ve been there too, for the third time now! Had some awesome days at Wacken - great bands, nice weather and good beer ;)
But: the Iron Maiden gig kinda sucked. Not because of the songs they played (I loved the setlist), but because of the crowd, which was awful! Way too many people! I had a total déjà-vu of the 2008 Maiden gig. It was unbearable during the first 3 songs...
everyone was nearly squeezed to death, some people almost collapsed and one friend of mine suffered a nerval collapse and hat to be carried out... and to top it all, there were like 10 crowd surfers a minute! Annoying and sometimes painful!
Somehow, I "survived" the gig (my hair suffered the most, still can´t comb it).
I could barely enjoy the music because of that chaos...
I was totally exhausted afterwards. Had to wait half an hour to get something to drink! And I was so disarranged that it took me almost two more hours to find my campground and my tent -.-
Sleeping was also very wearing... you go to sleep, think "hmm, nice warm sleeping bag", wake up at 3-4 am, shaking with cold, put some clothes on, sleep again, wake up at 9 and feel like you´re in a sauna!! Aargh! But I guess you´ll have to get used to stuff like that :-)
Except for that, it was a really great "holiday"... hehe.
Which campground were you on?
Yeah Maiden was a repeat of 08, both times we watched from the beer garden. Not sure I care for the viking village thing either again crowd issues but they are trying I'll give them that.
We were in campground M and yes camping at a festival is an adventure luckily we had a few cloudy mornings the tent didn't heat up too badly as we were in no condition to get up yet.
Kevin
Shame we didn't know you were going and we could have met up!
Hey you two
Glad you made it to the festival and you might as well live-it-up as not all holidays can always be as cheerful. Have a great time!
Justin~
Great shot of the two of you, John!
Looks like you had a great time.

ENDSTILLE was on stage as that picture was taken. I can recognize the banner back drop. ;) Anyway, nice picture!
Thanks for the comments everyone, it was one of the best Wackens we've done.
Next on the list Metalcamp!!
