I want to start working out a good amount and will I build more Testosterone is what im wondering? What can I do to not build that up, becauase I heard if you have more testosterone, the less your hair will grow...
Testosterone in your scalp causes hair loss, but it's more useful to you elsewhere, LOL! I doubt if working out will increase it anyway. Steroids even reduce it, but you don't want those as they are bad news and you really don't want to reduce your testosterone as it is the main male hormone.
Just get on with working out, the rest is nonsense and you will epxerience no changes.
Good consice advice as always!
Hi Mark,
It's not rocket science.
I'd just so regular exercise like walking, running, swimming and cycling. Perhaps go to the gym. Mind you also good diet is always the best and keep away from all that fried food that people love to eat over there! I never eat a main course and only have a starter. For what people say about my size I don't eat a great deal is just real ale I like. I'm sure "Mr UK" must have enjoyed some that over the years :-)
Cheers,

Hi Mark hope all is well with you and hope your moving plans are on schedule.I wouldn't worry too much about working out and your testosterone level as I've been going to a gym for years and never had any problem with hair not growing because of it.Who knows maybe if I didn't work out my hair would be to the floor by now!Seriously you should just start your routine and enjoy the benefits of being healthier because of it.Good luck my friend.Cheers
Mark
There is a link between high testosterone and hair loss. But, I think as long as you aren't taking T boosters and that non sense you should be OK. Aerobic exercises will lower T levels though, so just balance your weight lifting with a good dose of running!
Don't worry about it. The chance of your hair being affected by weight training is minimal to none.
If on the rare and unlikely chance that it does negatively affect your hair than take propecia and/or increase your aerobic (not anaerobic) cardio.
But on the whole, the benefits of joining the gym and living a healthy life (and maybe one with some muscle! lol)FAR outweigh any slight risk of exercise-induced hair loss.

P.S. Sorry to post such an egocentric shot, but as a 'Longhair Lifter' (though currently a Shorthair) for the last 7 years and a Personal Trainer I can't reccomened weight training highly enough (which also increases bone density and prevents muscle loss as you age not to mention helping your bodyfat levels stay lower etc)

Exercise didn't seem to limit his ability to grow hair.
Here's a pic from the archives.
I wonder what happenned to him!
The last I remember, he was complaining that his girlfriend wanted him to cut his hair. I guess he wasn't as tough as he looked!
People whose feelings of self-worth are dependent upon their ability to impress others often look impressive on the outside, yet lack inner strength.
I really don't think you'll have anything to worry about. Your testosterone level isn't going to change that dramatically to affect your hair. I've been working out since I was about 13 and I still have a full head of hair. Genetics has much more affect on your hair than any amount of working out will.
Hey Markkk, its "joshhead " (hannburger) Why didn't ya ask me, look at my hair man and i've been working out for years, on and off.... But my hair is near butt length I will show you soon.
