I hear a lot of people saying that when your hair is long, you shouldn't wash it every day because you will dry it out.
So I was wondering at what point, or length should I start to minimize the amount of days per week I shampoo and condition by hair.
By the way, I am currently using organic shampoo from Lush, not sure if that is relevant.
I'm almost at 3 months without a haircut, so I'm almost going into the shaggy look.
Well my experience with not washing my hair for a period of time is that the hair closest to my scalp starts getting oily looking after a couple days but the length still looks dryer and not as oily. The longer I go without washing my hair the oiliness will continue down the length. Since your hair is only at the shaggy length you might want to wash it more often as it will oil up and look kind of flat on your head.In a way I like my hair oily because it gets this nice shine to it after I brush it out smooth:)After I shampoo and condition it isn't shiny like that anymore until I let it go unwashed for awhile.Hopes this helps.Cheers

It's different for different people and also for the same person at different times.
My hair's just about long enough to sit on now, and I usually wash it once or twice a week. I usually brush it once or twice a day, which helps spread out oil from the scalp and stops the hair getting too greasy at the roots or too dry at the ends. Saying that, I also use jojoba oil almost every time I wash it.
You'll know yourself when your hair is getting too greasy. If your scalp's itching, it's definitely getting that way, but what I'd recommend is to brush it well and then wash it the next day rather than washing it immediately.
