It's amazing living in New Orleans I cannot find a single salon that knows how to do what I want. First off I am Caucasion....just saying this so everyone knows my hair type better, and have dark thick hair. My hair is currently 6" long and it grows fast. Right now I just slick it back and put some nice gel in it to give me that whole consecutive wall street look, lol.
Anyway to the point. I want to have braided extensions added to my hair. To give everyone a better idea even though I see this look on alot of black football players in the NFL, that is the look I want....I am white but still that is the look I like. Again not trying to sound racist.
Every salon I go to wants to give me corn rolls where they are twisted very tightly to the scalp which is completely the opposite from what I want. It's really simple....just long braided extensions to be added to my hair which is currently right at 6". I'm looking for a length maybe to the bottom of my shoulders....I may have to wait to grow my hair longer first for that length not sure.
I would love to have the feeling of long braids just hanging I think that would give me the feeling of being a God,lol, plus I crave attention whether it's good or bad:)
Money is not an issue I am really lookong fir the best way to have this done. Thanks for any advice if anyone knows a place in New Orleans that does this that would sound like a dream to me,lol.
Again I see this look on many football players it looks freakishly nice. I am not exactly a small guy so I don't think I will have any problems with this making me look like a girl, lol. Again thanks.
I don't live in the right area to help, but there is a recent post on LHC about braided extensions done at a rasta shop - the extensions are braided in with the real hair right from the scalp.
One of my female co-workers has what she calls "twists" - that include extensions. They look like braids but are really a rope braid that is treated in some fashion to not untwist.
Thanks for the advice by chance a friend of mine just started doing this as she has finished beauty college. I saw some of her clients both male and female and she does a wonderful job. My hair is plenty long enough but I'm waiting until the colder months come along because in the south it is HOT.....thank God I'm moving to the Northwest soon.
My hair will be longer by then anyway.....my hair grows about an inch to an inch and a half a month no joke....it runs in the family also have to shave twice a day.
Can't wait to get my extensions so everyone can start calling me Predator, lol, God I love standing out and being eccentric.
